WOW wow wow! This lovely old inn is an unbelievable airBnB gem! Absolutely well worth the price. My partner and I stayed in "Room 1" and it was large and roomy and private and comfy. We couldn't stop marveling at all of the gorgeous architectural details, the view of the river (and the moonlight on the snow too)! We loved the 100% trust based entry / check in / check out situation. There was a gorgeous alcove on our hall with a couch and fridge and coffee, tea, milk, mugs, and some homemade baked lemon bread. Can't beat it. -- you should know: this is a very remote rural area (if you're not familiar with VT), it's located in a "village" -- nothing is really walkable from the inn, and the closest restaurants were mostly closed by 8 or 9. The more bustling town of Bellows Falls was a 7 min drive away and is a must-see darling of a town itself. The Inn has 9 rooms -- it's really a functioning inn -- but we found it very quiet and everyone was super friendly. 10 stars, really!

Carol’s inn was lovely & felt like a home away from home! Easy check-in process. Under 30 minutes to Okemo for skiing. Lovely stay overall

The sound of the river flowing across the street was delightful. The room was comfortable and well ventilated with windows and fans. We briefly met Dave but never met Carol. That would have been nice. For people who like to watch TV they would be disappointed in the reception and the small size of the screen. Not important to us. Marvelous restaurant in town, called 13, a great recommendation. Perfect location for those who want to explore and enjoy the outdoors.

We had to cut our stay short because of the catastrophic flooding in the state of Vermont. The river across the street from Carol’s house was going over the bank. So many towns were cut off and we could not follow through with our plans.Unfortunately we left a day early because of our concerns with the flooding. Her home is a beautiful place and the accommodations were great. I would love to be able to go back someday.
