Family run holiday accommodation in the Orkney Islands Situated just ten minutes from the main town of Kirkwall, this sympathetically renovated Orkney farmhouse has been converted into three self catering apartments. Each apartment has been finished to a high standard with underfloor heating beneath tiled floors downstairs and quality solid hardwood floors upstairs ensuring that the house is always cosy. Find us on Facebook Kingsdale Holiday Apartments email kingsdaleholidays@hotmail.com The ground floor features a large kitchen with an arched window giving panoramic views of Orkney farmland. The fully equipped kitchen with a table and chairs leads through to a larger dining area with a double sided woodburning stove which also serves the lounge area. The lounge area also has comfortable seating and a smart TV. There are double doors leading off the dining area to a paved patio with picnic table. The central stairway leads off the dining area to the 3 bedrooms and bathroom located upstairs. There are two double rooms each with king size beds, built in wardrobes and ensuite toilet, wash hand basin and shower. There is also a twin bedded room next to the main bathroom which has modern fitted units and a shower over the bath. The Farmhouse has lockable adjoining doors to The Barn so that both can be booked together to make a larger 4 bedroom apartment with a double sofabed in The Barn's living area.

The Farmhouse was immaculate. It had everything anyone would possibly need on a trip to Orkney. The fire place was lovely to sit beside on a wet day with a book and the location just outside Finstown is ideal for peace and quiet but not too far away from Kirkwall. We’d love to come back in the future

Beautiful, comfortable, loved having a fire as the evenings were cool. Kitchen was great--we made roast chicken and another full meal in the kitchen. Bedrooms were private and comfortable, laundry was outstanding and so helpful while traveling. Highly recommend!

Robert’s Farmhouse apartment is beautiful, perfect for exploring the sites of Orkney. Every room was comfortable and had very nice touches. Bedrooms were perfect for our group of four. Would highly recommend it.

The Farmhouse was absolutely lovely - a perfect location in a stunningly beautiful setting and just a short drive away from some of the must-see sites in Orkneys. There were guests staying at the other adjoining apartments and we still had privacy and peace as though we were staying in our own private home away from home. Everything was spotless, towels and linens were higher quality and the kitchen was well stocked. Robert immediately and very kindly responded to my questions upon arrival. There were small touches to welcome and comfort us that were greatly appreciated and we were pleased to have the outdoor company of a barn cat that visited!

Kingsdale is nestled beneath Keelylang Hill and is a haven for bird watchers. You can regularly spot Hen Harriers, Short Eared Owls, and Kestrels which nest on the surrounding hillside.

Kingsdale apartments are approximately 2 miles from the village of Finstown and 5 miles from Kirkwall, the main town in Orkney.

Within a mile from the apartments you can explore Cuween Hill Cairn and Wideford Cairn, with the more well known Maeshowe only 5 miles away. The world heritage site Skara Brae is 10 miles away.
