Typical Cape Cod Cottage I’ll start by saying Sand Dollar Realty was helpful and responsive. I don’t have anything negative to say about their customer service. However, the cottage could use some help. The pictures on the listing are outdated and need to be updated. Because the cottage is SO small, I was looking forward to spending time outside (both front and back). The front yard had chairs turned upside down and lawn not manicured. The back porch was almost worst. The paint / wood is chipping and peeling. You can see where they are started to replace some wood pieces, but the patio set in the picture is NOT there. There is no table for you to eat at outside, nor is there a rug. Also be aware, there is no privacy on the back porch when the other cottages are occupied. The back porch needs to be sanded and refinished, ASAP. As for the interior, there is no privacy at all. We didn’t mind the size of the cottage, but the doors on the rooms are closet bi-fold doors, not solid doors. It was impossible for our young son to fall asleep at night. I’m a stickler about cleanliness and although I appreciate not paying a cleaning fee, the cleaning falls on the guests who used it last. There are quilts on both beds (which we did not use) and a blanket that was draped over the couch. The couch and the blanket were covered in dog hair upon our arrival, so first thing we did was vacuum. They don’t provide linens, so I don’t know if the quilts on the beds are washed, either. The shower walls were covered in soap scum. They do advertise that the bathrooms are sanitized by cleaning personnel, but it doesn’t seem like they do a thorough job. The public beach across the street is a short walk, but the area on the beach is only as big as the cottage - small. There is one(1) window A/C unit, so if you stay here pray for really cool nights. The windows have shear blinds and don’t block out much sunlight. They have added a large chair under the TV (not pictured, of course) which cuts down on more space inside. Lastly, the internet worked great for us the whole week. I was nervous about another review I read, but we had our streaming device, cell phones, and computer connected. No issues. All in all, we survived, but we would not recommend this place and we wouldn’t stay here again. Few side notes: 1) The water is hot and pressure is good - loved that 2) Parking is rather small and we felt we had a tight fit with a truck (luckily we rented out of season) 3) Kitchen was pretty well stocked as far as pots / pans

Our stay at Tidal View 6 was really lovely with a few minor hiccups. My (child) daughter and I were the ones making this trip and with just the two of us, the house felt full, which for our purposes, was nice & cozy! The marsh-side location is beautiful and the public beach access is right across the street, though the public portion of the beach is very small. We traveled to the Cape in the off season so we got to use the faux wood burning stove though our last night there we couldn't get the heat to turn on no matter what we did. We had a few miscommunications with Sand Dollar Realty- including items provided in the house and trash can location- but overall, they provided a lot of helpful information leading up to our travel date. The biggest issue we faced was really unreliable internet. In the instructions provided, Sand Dollar Realty tries to help with this by suggesting to unplug and plug back in the modem but we couldn't find it in the house and didn't receive communication back when we messaged over the weekend that we couldn't find it. If you're traveling solo or during the summer and can be outside a lot or are looking to (literally) unplug, the cottage provides a great opportunity for respite.
