I'm Nelson Wells, music industry publicist at Team Clermont and devoted dad to identical twin daughters, based in Athens, Georgia. I built this modern cottage as my home & a place of solace for my girls, our pup & me. We love it and hope you do too. Come stay with us in Athens some time soon. We'll leave the light on for you (and the fridge stocked). Since being in the tech industry since 2010, ours was the 4th home listed on AirBnB for people looking to stay in Athens. Since then we've seen the site grow as well as our little town. for sure. While we welcome anyone and everyone, we cater specifically to entertainment industry and music industry visitors who prefer a bit of privacy, anonymity, and subtle professionalism from someone who has been in the industry himself since the 90's. We can - and do - provide most any requested specific need or want and do so with grace and aplomb. We want all visitors to feel at home and to fall in love with our little town as we have. We do not discriminate on age, gender, sexual orientation, or in any way whatsoever, and we say this so you know you can stay and relax with confidence. NELSON WELLS - PERSONAL Nelson Wells is a devoted dad, a dedicated business owner, and a generous contributor to charitable organizations and civil rights groups worldwide and in his hometown of Athens, Georgia. "I built this little Athens cottage as a test run for my next home which I'll build next door," he states, "yet I love the house so much and it's so perfect for my twin girls and me that we've stayed and stayed. I just love the neighborhood more than any in Athens. There are so many unique amenities, distinct architecture, Athens vibe, and amazing food all within walking distance. Why would we be anywhere else. Plus walking to the stadium takes mere minutes through downtown." Nelson built the Athens house at the same time he was building what he thought would be a build-to-sell spec-house beach home on Tybee Island, just east of Savannah, Georgia. As it turns out Nelson and partners Gary and Lana got "stuck" with the beach house, however, throughout the entire economic meltdown were able to rent the home to beach vacationers to great success for nearly 4 years before they let it go. As an early adopter of technology and AirBnB (Nelson's Athens cottage was the 4th to be listed on AirBnB in Athens) Wells knew well how to manage a high-end vacation rental and was one of the first Tybee homeowners to move from Vacation rentals by Owner to AirBnB. That Tybee house was the first Tybee Island home to be an AirBnB "Featured Home" where the San Francisco company sent their photographers to shoot and feature the home on Airbnb's front page. Since then Nelson has enjoyed renting his homes through AirBnB.com for ten years and welcomes friends and travelers from around the world and all different backgrounds. Nelson is a civil rights activist and a defender of women's rights, LGBTQ rights and has for over 20 years served on boards or donated and supported groups who defend social justice and liberties for all minority groups, especially those being oppressed. An advocate for not just humans but for our oceans and sea life worldwide, Nelson's also an annual member and contributor to Surfrider Foundation, protecting our oceans and beaches throughout the world. Charitable organizations and civil rights activist groups Nelson Wells has been involved with or contributed to include: ACLU, the American Civil Liberties Union Community Connection - Athens, GA Project Safe - Sheltering women and children, and protecting women against sexist or domestic violence or sexism in the workplace Nuçi's Space - Protecting the health and lives of Artists Lukas' Fund - Helping Mothers and infants in NICU Jeannette Rankin Women's Scholarship Fund which helps underprivileged women gain education and defend against sexism in education and sexist work environments, or home situations.  The Rankin Foundation is where Nelson has donated thousands in like-kind exchange to help provide underprivileged women the ability to seek education they wouldn't have been able to otherwise.
