The place was overall fine, but had cleanliness issues in all areas, with dead cockroaches, flies and spiders, dirty floors, and smelly towels. For this price tag we would have expected more, hence, we were a bit disappointed. Amenities are good, place is very spacious and super close to the beach. Neighbors were sometimes a bit loud but that was acceptable.

If you’re like me and obsessing over which place to commit to for your trip, just stop and click ‘book’. If you’re going to the North Shore, which is a better choice than Honolulu etc, this is the place. We went to every beach within 10 miles and to the Waimea Falls and into town for dinner. All close by. Walk to food trucks and the grocery store and literally walk steps to the beach. The space is plenty big for 4 adults like us. The screened in porch is the best bonus. Outdoor shower very helpful. Don’t believe anyone that complains about A/C. You don’t need it and wouldn’t want it. Every day the windows stayed open despite any rain and it was comfortable and breezy. Really the only complaint was that many dishes in the cupboard weren’t clean and we had some issues with electrical outlets working. But honestly. Book this place. You will not regret it.

Samuel's beautiful house is perfectly located. Really just opposite the Three Tables Beach which is nice for swimming, and just a very short (!) walk from the fascinating Sharks Cove where it's super easy to go snorkeling just from the shore. Foodland and a handful of food trucks with delicious lunch are also just a 5 minute walk away. The house itself is surrounded by lush greenery with singing birds and chicken running around in the garden. Really fun to watch ;-) We liked especially the spacious, comfy living room with lots sofa space and an open kitchen; perfect for us as a family to be together while preparing dinner. There is nice and sufficient crockery as well as quite a few supplies in the kitchen including lots of herbs. The large, mosquito-protected lanai was perfect for breakfast and dinner, or just relaxing a little. Wifi worked perfectly fine and fast. The communication with Samuel was very easy both before and during our stay. We got immediate answers and perfect check-in instructions. There are three things we would recommend improving: The bathroom would benefit from a complete makeover. The windows in the main sleeping room do not completely close as parts are missing. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue given the high temperatures even at night. But we actually had quite a draught in the some nights and would have liked to close the window. The bedroom closets could have been a bit cleaner. All in all, we had a great time. Mahalo Samuel

My friends and I stayed here and we loved every minute of it. This is located in North Shore with the beach just right across the street. We love to swim, so that was a huge plus for us! We didn’t mind not having AC during October, you don’t really need it. We had portable fans and ceiling fans, which were just fine for us. If you’re the type who is freaked out by ANY sort of bugs, this place is not for you. We wanted to feel the real, raw Hawaii and this did it for us. We saw geicos, which you actually want in your house because they eat any bugs that may have crawled or flown in. The geicos are harmless, actually even cute to look at. We also saw huge snails as we were walking to the beach in the driveway area, which was cool. We tasted the passion fruit in the driveway area also, so fresh and delicious! We didn’t mind the quiet time from 8am to 8pm. We usually knocked out by 9-930pm anyways because of the time difference at home in California. Always nice to gain 3 hours more during vacation. We loved the “country feel” when you’re driving here. We appreciate the less touristy area for sure. We went to Waikiki for a few hours one day and we just HAD to get out of there and return to our little corner of heaven, North Shore. I also love and appreciate the military presence here in Oahu.
