A fabulous place for our family trip for 7 days over New Year’s Eve. The house is spacious and plenty of room for different activities. We loved the pool room with extra games, big dining table a bonus and lovely afternoon sitting room. View is special, right on the river. Not much was open nearby when we were there so needed a car to explore and no screens with kids was a nice change!

Our group of 10 friends had a great time. The house is amazing. It is old and majestic, but it has been refurbished with doors, windows and other things. It is perched above the river, that is full of swans, egrets, herons and, other birds. The weather was great in September, we spent our days enjoying the pool and playing games. We rode bikes to Castillon, which is nearby and has a great bakery, produce store and fromagarie. The restaurant in Flaujagues is delicious. We canoed, kayaked and rowed the river. It is a great house to chill out at after spending time in Paris. St. Emillion is really great. We lunched and rode bikes around the countryside. Colette was very helpful and speaks English well. The value of Clos Castaing is outstanding. Thanks

It is a wonderful place , accommodation is fabulous and it has everything that you may want . It’s a peaceful place and the pool and surroundings are beautiful. Well worth a visit.

This was a 2 week family holiday for eleven and it was absolutely perfect. There are acres of space both inside and outside the chateau and everything we needed was to hand. The absence of TV's was thoroughly welcome! The weather started "meh..." but after a couple of days hit 32+ and stayed there. Accordingly, we spent a lot of time in the pool - the 2 children (6 & 8) mastered jumping early on and we all enjoyed the pool lighting for late evening dips. We also took the canoes out for a spin. We all took the train into Bordeaux - the station at Castillon has plenty of free parking. The supermarkets, cafes and restaurants within 20 minutes of the chateau are all excellent. My prime memories are watching the sun rise over the beautiful Dordogne.

Beautiful place for our 3 generation family to spend a week. The fantastic pictures don’t do if justice! Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming! The pool is just great - we were in it twice a day at least! There are so many canoes, paddles, bicycles, fishing rods etc. and so we were never bored. The place felt classy and wholesome at the same time. Highly recommended and thank you.
