Escape to this beautiful 3 bedroom, 3 1/2 bathroom villa, located on a secluded bay, just a short walk to San Marcos La Laguna. The 3 story home, with its private dock, was constructed in 2013 and offers breathtaking views from spacious galleries overlooking the lake. Casa Blanca, as referred to by locals, is accessible by road or boat and is conveniently located to all that Lake Atitlan has to offer. If you're looking to get away from it all, this is the place for you! The villa can accommodate up to 7 people. Each bedroom can sleep 2 people with a daybed for a 7th person. It is spacious and comfortable with 3 large galleries for extra outdoor living spaces. A child's highchair is also available.

Wow ! is all I can say don’t hesitate this place is a little oasis. From the grounds to the pool and hot tub we never wanted to leave the grounds it was relaxing atmosphere. the staff is superb and very helpful my sister had a toothache the day we where traveling Edgar one of the staff gave us his dentist in San Pedro excellent we love Guatemala and love the people the decorations where very authentic and really personal you could see the care it took in making this vacation home .thank you for sharing your beautiful home .
This Airbnb is amazing. The communication is with Aaron and he responds very quick. We were picked up at the ferry dock in San Marcos and taken to the house by tuktuk. Make sure you have cash because it’s 10 GTQ per person. The host did also offer to set up a ride for us from Antigua if needed. It’s only a few minute tuktuk ride to get from the house to the main area where all of the restaurants, shops, and boat dock are. You can also walk and it takes maybe 10 minutes. There is a groundskeeper that lives on the property who is helpful with tuktuk rides and overall general questions. Each floor has its own balcony which is nice too. There was some people there working on the garden/lawn etc but no one bothered us. The area by the dock is not good for swimming because all the plants float around there but the Cerro Tzankujil nature reserve is very close.

The village of San Marcos La Laguna is referred to as the"spiritual capital" of the lake. Many services are offered: yoga, meditation and massage classes, as well as Spanish lessons, to mention a few.
Inexpensive boat "launchas" or water taxis are readily available for transport to neighboring villages. Local "tuk tuk" drivers are for hire for short distances by road and can be found in all villages on the lake.

We live in New Orleans, Louisiana and try to live life to the fullest and surround ourselves with like minded people. We are total foodies and New Orleans has some of the best food in the world in addition to great music and nightlife. We've renovated several historic homes and enjoy antiques and architecture. Traveling and staying in unique and interesting places around the world also appeal to us. Some of our favorite places to visit are New York, Paris, Italy, and of course Latin America where we discovered Lake Atitlan. The English writer Aldous Huxley wrote, "Lake Como, it seems to me, touches on the limit of permissibly picturesque, but Atitlan is Como with additional embellishments of several immense volcanoes. It really is too much of a good thing." That pretty much sums it up. I first visited the lake in 1980 while I was attending a nearby Spanish language school. When I came back for a visit with my wife several years ago, we both fell in love with the Lake. It was just as beautiful as I remembered but now has many restaurants, a nightlife, and activities. Traveling extensively as we do we have rented many places around the world and so are familiar with what makes a place comfortable and desirable. We have incorporated our experiences in designing a house that is both a great place to just hang out and relax or use as a base for exploring the fascinating highlands of Guatemala.
