This place was great!! Tilaran was equidistant from almost every destination we had planned- about 1.5 hrs to Playa Hermosa, La Fortuna, Monteverde, and Tenorio National Park! The cottage itself is very quaint and adorable, with plenty of room for the 3 of us (although the couch bed is definitely made for someone who is short!). Each night, we were greeted by their dog Cezar, and he would walk us to the house after we gave him some pets. Best doggie host ever! The nature surrounding the house was beautiful, and we got to see some very neat wildlife. Jessica & Eduardo were extremely responsive and helpful with any questions we had and very kind as well. The property is about .5 mile - 1.5 miles off of the main roads depending which you take, and is entirely made of gravel. Therefore, I extremely recommend renting a 4x4 vehicle to reach the house! One last thing- if you’re scared of bugs, this might not be the place for you! Lots of cicadas and moths wanted to be our house buddies lol!

Jessica ist ein wunderbarer Mensch und eine perfekte Gastgeberin! Sie war immer erreichbar, super hilfsbereit und freundlich. Wenn es ein Problem gab oder ich eine Bitte hatte, war sie und ihr Mann immer sofort zur Stelle! Ich habe mich sehr willkommen gefühlt und wurde sogar zu Familienaktivitäten eingeladen. Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön gestaltet und auch gut ausgestattet, es waren sogar Handy-Ladekabel und Lautsprecherboxen vorhanden. Das Häuschen ist umgeben von Natur, ich habe viele verschiedene Vögel, Affen, und Pizotes gesehen, direkt von der Terrasse aus. Leider wurden die Windkrafträder, gegen den Protest der Anwohner, sehr nah an den bewohnten Gründstücken gebaut. Der Lärm der Rotorblätter ist vergleichbar mit Flugzeugen, die permanent über das Grundstück fliegen. An einigen Tagen lag das am nächsten gelegene Windrad still, da war es deutlich angenehmer. Menschlich, von den Gastgebern und der Natur her, ist das Preis-Leitungs-Verhältnis dieser Unterkunft kaum zu toppen!

Lovely place to chill, beautiful property and ignore the wind mill on the farm next to you the birds and the delicious breeze makes it all worthwhile.

Nice place. Very peaceful and private. Lots of wildlife. Jessica and Mario were great. You walk up the road about a mile and there's a beautiful view of the lake. I enjoyed my stay very much.
