Our beach house, "Shambhala", a place of peace, tranquility and happiness. Enjoy a luxuriously appointed house with gourmet kitchen, fireplace and large deck. Set opposite the bush, 200m to the surf beach, 450m to the boat ramp & 150m to the shop. The main beach house has three large bedrooms. The master bedroom features an ensuite and french doors opening to the deck. The other two bedrooms share the main bathroom that features a gorgeous freestanding bath that you can lie in and gaze up at the stars. The second bedroom has a queen bed. The third bedroom features a king bed that can alternatively be split into two king single beds. This bedroom also has a singe bed and trundle bed if extra sleeping spaces are needed to sleep up to 8 people in the beach house. The beach house features a large open living space with a comfortable lounge and TV area; a fireplace and siting area and a gourmet kitchen and dining area. Our handmade solid timber dining table seats up to 12 people. Our kitchen is appointed with Miele and Smeg appliances. It has a lovely island bench and solid timber bench tops, surrounded by windows so you can enjoy preparing meals as you gaze outside. Our kitchen is stocked with olive oil, salt, pepper and spices. Our living space opens to a large deck that is covered and can be used in all weather. It is the perfect place to enjoy a BBQ and sit and relax the afternoon away. The deck has a large Weber BBQ and a solid timber outdoor table that can seat 12. Our lounge opens to the front verandah, where many a drinks have been enjoyed. Our beautiful hanging pod chair or Adirondack rocking chairs are the perfect place to relax, read a book and spot a kangaroo at dusk grazing outside. Our cottage, is a separate 2 bedroom dwelling with one queen bedroom and a second bedroom with 2 king single bunk beds, sleeping 4 people. The cottage has a spacious bathroom and a separate living and dining space with kitchenette. A laundry is provided, adjacent to the carport, with a washing machine and dryer. There is a large clothes line and pegs. Washing detergent is provided.

Shambhala Retreat was wonderful! The house was beautiful, every piece of furniture was so comfy and you can walk straight down the street to the dog beach from the adjoining street. Natalie was a great host, I hope I have an occasion to come back.

Bendalong is a small, tranquil village that boasts some of the finest beaches on the south coast, excellent for surfing, fishing, swimming and long walks. The best thing about Bendalong for a beach holiday is that you can always find a beach with surf – or without wind – depending upon what you want as you have beaches that face North, East and South.
Bendalong's blue ribbon surf spots are Inyadda Beach and Green Island (off Cunjurong Point), both magnets for surfers in NSW.
The Boat Ramp is popular with families and visitors, a colony of giant stingrays inhabit this bay and they’re a bit of an attraction in their own right.
Washerwoman’s Beach is northeast facing, looking towards the southern headland of Jervis Bay in the distance, and in a southeaster though this is one of the few spots in the area that stays pretty calm.
Bendalong borders the Conjola National Park, set on a magnificent jutting section known as Red Point. The park is home to abundant wildlife and birds, so you will be staying amongst kangaroos, wallabies, possums, king parrots, galahs and lorikeets to name a few. The park features many cycling routes, walking tracks and picnic areas.
For food and essentials there is a general store in the village, just 150m from our house.
Bendalong is 217km south of Sydney, about a 3 hour drive.
Bendalong is 13km, or a 10 minute drive, from the Pacific Highway. There is minimal public transport so most visitors rely on their own car to access Bendalong.
The nearest train station is at Bomaderry, approximately a 45 minute drive north of Bendalong.
Daily bus services between Sydney and Melbourne do offer passengers a drop off at the Bendalong turnoff on the Pacific Highway.
