Just as the previous reviews state, Rob was tremendous in every single aspect. He is especially great with communication and is incredibly thoughtful and accommodating with bottled water and he provided a treat in the form of Charleston wafers, which my family loved. Rob even check-in with us to see how things were going along the way. I was initially concerned about how comfortable my family of five would be, but Rob reassured me that we would be fine and I’m happy to report he was right. To give you an idea I’m 6’3” 300lbs, my wife is 6 foot, my oldest is also 6’3”, the other two aren’t a big concern YET anyway with respect to height and weight. We all slept comfortably and had fun diving into nightly movies from his movie collection on-board to avoid the heat. We had an awesome experience on The First Lite and hope you will too. Thank you so much Rob for sharing your vessel with us to build on our family memories.
Rob is an exceptional host who is easy to communicate with when he meets you there he spends quality time with you going over all detailed information. What makes this so special is he absolutely lights up when talking about his sailboat and how special she really is. Thank you Rob for sharing your pride and Joy with us. We look forward to sailing with you in the future. The Sondervan’s New Jersey
This is a very unique and wonderful experience. Rob is easy to work with and responsive. The boat is a dream! The location is a private dock in the back of the most peaceful neighborhood you could ever think of. It’s quiet out there and you feel a million miles away. BUT NO there’s iced coffee, a cute local brewery, grocery store, and good restaurants just about 5 minutes up the road. Then Folly Beach and Charleston are each just about 25 mins away. Rob gave me a brief history on the boat and simple instructions for operating it upon arrival. I shared it comfortably with my adult niece and nephew for 5 days.
Staying on the First Lite was truly a unique experience. The boat is beautiful and the location on the Abbapoola Creek was very peaceful and quiet. The owner, Rob, was very helpful at check-in and I loved hearing about the history of the boat. If you are looking to get away from the city but still be within driving distance of all that downtown Charleston has to offer, I couldn't recommend anything better than the First Lite.

自我介绍
While growing up in Lloyd Harbor, New York, I spent much of my time fishing and sailing in Cold Spring Harbor and the Long Island Sound. My time on the water nurtured in me a love and appreciation for the sea and the need to respect and protect our environment. I graduated from SUNY at Albany with a BA in Environmental Studies and attended law school in Buffalo, where I met my wife Deborah. Shortly after graduating law school in 1984, I was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps and assigned to the Charleston Naval Legal Service Office. While serving on active duty, I was appointed as a Special Assistant United States Attorney. Upon completion of my active duty service, I spent the next twenty years practicing with two nationally recognized plaintiff's civil litigation law firms and focused my practice on asbestos personal injury and property damage, environmental toxic tort litigation, and fraud actions under the False Claims Act. I am now in practice on my own at the Law Office of Robert M. Turkewitz, LLC ( (Website hidden by Airbnb) While I have handled cases all throughout the United States and Virgin Islands, it is always nice to be back home in Charleston! I like to spend my spare time sailing with my family and friends and staying actively involved in the community, such as serving on the Board of the Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy, and on the Advisory Boards of Save the Light, Inc. and the American College of the Building Arts. I am also the legal officer of the Charleston Sail and Power Squadron, and actively involved in the Historic Rotary Club of Charleston and the historic congregation, Kahol Kadosh Beth Elohim. I also enjoy creating solutions to complex problems, and I'm the co-inventor of the patented WhirlyBird Repeller, which is a simple but effective device used to repel birds from docks, boats, Coast Guard navigational aids, outdoor dining areas, cell towers and other areas where birds are a problem. My wife Deborah and I started a family business called WhirlyBird Solutions, LLC, through which we manufacture the WhirlyBird Repeller in Charleston and market it world-wide. ( (Website hidden by Airbnb) A WhirlyBird Repeller is mounted on the top of First Light's mast, which keeps her virtually bird-free. I'm listing for overnight stays "First Light," a classic Herreshoff designed 44' Cherubini Ketch. Although she has a fiberglass hull, she is finely appointed with lots of hand crafted wooden finishes inside and out. She has all the modern conveniences of home. Unfortunately, she is not available at this time for charter.
