Nice surprise of a christmas card and a bottle of wine on the table as soon as I got in. The house was decorated in a lovely festive attire, including a real christmas tree. Instructions were left for the cooker, heating etc. I was not told the summer house would be locked and out of use. As well as the freezer not working prior to arriving. I had to leave the frozen food in a cooler bag in the garden in hopes of it staying as cool as possible. The location is great as it is close to a lot of shops, restaurants and activities. You do not need to travel far, and the local shop is a few minutes walk away. Although, you may need to drive around nearby streets to find a place to park. This was the same issue when finding parking by the house. Unfortunately there were a few things that affected my positive experience. There was dog hairs everywhere and so I had to vaccum the entire house. There was also a strong dog odour when sitting on the sofa by the garden door. The cutlery and glasses were especially dirty and I ended up washing everything before use. The recycling bin was already full when I arrived so I had to put my recycling in black bags left by the front door. I was requested by David to put the recycling bin outside the front of the house but the pathway by the house had flooded, due to the rain and I was not able to. David is reachable via phone, which does help a lot. Apart from the negatives mentioned, I still enjoyed my stay.

The location is perfect - just a few mins walk from the beach and shops. The decor is contemporary and tastefully done - as per the photos the reclaimed wood kitchen is nice and spacious, and conducive to entertaining / family communications. Our children aged 4 and 7, loved the sunny-all-day-long garden, bouncing on the trampoline, appropriating the charming wendy house and Summer house as their own. David was a responsive, pleasant host, and all in all, a lovely home from home. We recommend it highly.

It was an absolute pleasure staying at David's place - spacious, well designed, well equipped and perfectly located. An all round memorable experience! We'll be back before you know it!
