A unique place in a beautiful spot in the mountains. The road towards the house is quite exciting, narrow and steep, and we were happy that we booked our rental car with additional insurance, although all went well. We did not meet the host Juan, but we got detailed instructions how to reach the house, where the keys were and how to everything worked, and that went fine. He was very responsive to questions via email and provided us with detailed suggestions on what to see and do in the area. The house is well equiped (outdoor seating, kitchensupplies, heating, TV area, books, maps etc) and very characteristic and cosy. The 2p bed was a bit soft to our liking but also fine. Wifi worked, although a bit slow during the evenings. The main advantage of the house is the peace and quiet, the magnificent views of the mountains and nice hiking paths nearby. Recommended for those who prefer nature and hikes over the busy tourist areas (and are not afraid to drive up some steep hills ;) )

Die Aussicht ist wirklich fantastisch und die Umgebung auch. Die zentrale Lage ist perfekt als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge auf der ganzen Insel. Ein Auto ist dringend nötig. Wir waren Ende November hier und zu dieser Zeit ist auch warme Kleidung wichtig, weil es im Haus und auch draußen sehr kühl ist, wenn die Sonne um ca. 17 Uhr hinter dem Berg verschwindet.

Unfortunately, the place was filled with mice feces. We were not able to stay. If the problem is solved: the location is beautiful, view amazing, communication with Juan very easy and fast. its just the pests/mice...

We really enjoyed our stay at Juans rural house. It is totally located in nature and the view is amazing! There are many nice hiking tracks in the surrounding and the houses terrace is a beautiful place to spend a day and relax. However we had some issues with the house itself. The provided towels smelled very bad, so we washed them again at 90 °C. Afterwards it was fine. However, the washing machine was already broken and we had to close the door with a broom stick. I am sure this will be fixed soon. Sadly also the chair cushions for the deck chairs were full of mouse feces and we couldn't use them.

He house is located just outside the village of Tejeda (5 km), in the road that leads to La Culata, in a small farm with fruit trees (1.000 m²). La Culata is inside the Parque Rural del Nublo, which is a great beauty natural protected space, where you can see spectacular geological formations caused by volcanic eruptions that formed the island.
Parque Rural del Nublo is the most extensive protected zone of the island of Gran Canaria and has a surface of 23,51 km², which includes from the Montaña de los Moriscos de Altavista, continuing for the ravine of Tejeda's municipality up to the dams of the Parralillo and Caidero de la Niña. The vegetation that prevails is the pine of the recent repopulation, chestnuts, poplars and other exotic species. Birds like the guirre and the kestrel are of easy observation in these places.
