Relax and reinvigorate on 21 secluded acres outside of Custer, SD. Beaver Creek Lodge has oversized hand-hewn logs, vaulted ceilings, and artistic finishes truly make this cabin something to behold. Immerse yourself in nature when you enjoy South Dakota mornings and sunsets on the wraparound deck or any of the three private balconies. It’s set on 21 private, wooded acres on a scenic hillside, above Beaver Creek, which meanders through a lush meadow below. It is very quiet and off the beaten trail but within minutes of Custer State Park and Wind Cave National Park with some of the best wildlife viewing in the country. Just 1 mile past the property on the gravel road is a back entrance into Wind Cave Park at an area where buffalo and elk hang out. Within walking distance is a historic log schoolhouse for a feel of the history of the area. Just inside the park is Rankin Ridge Fire Lookout with great views of the area.
It’s very clean and beautiful place. Just as described . Very peaceful . We would love to walk around but was too cold 🥶 but we still enjoyed our stay. Great way to relax away from busy world. Thank you so much!
Very nice log home situated on top of the hill. Secluded location. If there is going to be inclement weather you will need 4 wheel drive or chains. Well worth the stay
We went to South Dakota off peak season and wanted a home base for our foursome. Jody's space was just perfect for that. Lots of games in the basement (pool, foosball, checkers) for the boys (13,16) to entertain themselves with. Great cooking space as well. We had a great time hiking around the property in hopes of seeing an elk or other animals. A great jumping off point for all of our adventures.
This home was the perfect getaway. It has outstanding views and wildlife all around. Even as an escape from everything it's still within 30-45 minutes from sightseeing activities. The host provided a wonderful manual with all the rules, departure institutions, local tourist activities and recommendations on restaurants! I'd recommend it to anyone who loves nature!
Explore the creek itself and see the wildlife it attracts year-round including deer, cows, chipmunks, birds, wild turkeys, the occasional elk, and, of course, beavers! Be sure to visit Wind Cave Park, just 1 mile down the road, and Custer State Park, 6 miles away, to witness wild herds of buffalo and elk which migrate through the area. You’re also 1.5 miles east of HWY 87, better known as the beautiful Needles Highway.
