First and foremost from the beginning communication was wonderful with quick replies. The house was more then we ever needed. We could always find a quiet corner to ourselves. The kitchen had most everything we needed. ( could use a wine bottle opener) This would be a great home for family stays. So much space!! The sunrises are beautiful. Lots of birds and frogs. There is a store not to far as well as a bar that had good food. Great area to take evening walks. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Rob’s place was exactly what we were looking for! We wanted a welcoming, comfortable, and relaxing place for my wife and I and our five kids. We weren’t interested in staying at the resorts and the more “touristy” areas that the Big Island has. We wanted an opportunity to explore the island and see life a little more like the locals do. We weren’t bothered by a 20min drive to Blacks Sands Beach, an hour to Kilauea, the hour and twenty minute drive to Costco or even the day we visited Akaka Falls and ended up driving around the entire island. Rob’s place was a great jumping off point for all the adventures our family experienced during our 16 day stay. The kitchen was functional, the beds were comfortable, and overall the space made us feel at home. After reaching out to Rob regarding the BBQ grill he has listed under amenities he had Co-Host Kurt drop a brand new grill off to us the very next day. We are super thankful to Rob and his family for sharing their special place with us.
