La Martellina was the perfect place to spend a long weekend, and Claudio was the most wonderful host. The property is beautiful. Exactly as pictured inside and out. The spacious bedroom (with a very comfortable bed!) with windows opening up to the sound and view of the Arno river was a lovely place to retire to at the end of the day. And Claudio’s kindly prepared breakfast was the best way to start the day. I appreciated the care he put into this very much and especially that he provided options for dietary needs. The location of Martellina was easy to find and thanks to Claudio’s detailed instructions, was also quick and easy to get to and from the city center of Florence. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a base to explore Florence from, or for a relaxing weekend away. Thank you very much, Claudio!

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Claudio's place in a beautiful, private and peaceful small town located right on the Arno river, a 15-20 minute drive from Florence. Met some really wonderful people from around the world. The description/other reviews are very accurate. We stayed in the very nice/large Salcio room, private bathroom and an American equivalent to a Double/Queen size firm bed. Loved being able to open the windows (screens were great to keep bugs out). Claudio is very friendly, kind, and responsive, providing lots of information. His dog Daisy and two cats were adorable and friendly. Claudio and his helper really went all out on breakfast, big variety and delicious! We were able to do laundry for an additional fee, which was great. The bus was a little confusing for us from the Train Station so we took a taxi, the cost was about $40 total, and we took one another time, it was the same price. The bus is easier to take from the town into Florence and much less expensive.

Pobyt u Claudio miał swój wyjątkowy charakter. Polecam wszystkim pragnącym zwiedzić Florencje i nie tylko. Powrót do domu nad rzeką po dniu spędzonym w mieście daje wytchnienie i odpoczynek w zupełnie wyjatkowym miejscu. Żałowałyśmy, że spędzamy tam tylko dwie noce i miałyśmy tak mało czasu aby nacieszyć się nim. Wśród zalet należy wymienić na pewno: - szum rzeki za oknem - duży dobrze urządzony pokój - duży prysznic - ładny ogród z hamakami i basenem - smaczne śniadania

We had a wonderful time in Claudio's accommodation! Close to Florence and yet a paradise in the middle of nature! After all the sightseeing you could relax in the country house or cuddle with Claudio's dog Daisy. The house is so stylishly furnished, we felt very comfortable. Our highlight was the breakfast that Claudio prepared every morning! A huge selection and everything prepared with love. Thanks for everything, Claudio ☺️
