Excellent host. asked for local recommendations and she helped out the second we got there. Told us if there was anything we needed to just ask. the place is beautiful in a stunning location. It's a bit far from the park but well worth it. about a 46 min drive to the park but 15 min to town to grab dinner at some really neat spots. I hiked the park and had ample time to drive back clean up then go to town for some really good food the few restaurants had to offer. 10/10.

Our stay at Kara’s place was awesome. We had come for a volcano adventure for my 4 year old daughter and this location was perfect for hitting Mt ST. Hellen’s, the Ape Caves and Mt. Rainier all in 3 days. The decorations were eclectic and worldly I really enjoyed her art and the various little things like to full size dollhouse she had upstairs and of course my daughter was enamored by all the little magical objects she found around the house. Kara met us when we first arrived and made us feel at home from the start. She even let us know ahead of time that Johnston observatory was closed and help us find alternative hikes and experiences. We really appreciated the transparency and guidance to make sure we had a great time here. I would relate that this place is truly special at its location on the lake under the shadow of an active volcano. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking to experience the volcanic splendor of the Pacific Northwest. Thanks again. Kara for a wonderful time!

A quaint, cabin like lake front property which answered our specific goals in lake fun for a few days with family - large yard space, dock with mooring, and outdoor eating spaces.

Kara's home is more than expected! Not only were the aforementioned descriptions and amenities as described, there were family heirlooms displayed along with items Kara may have brought back from her many travels. I would love to know the stories! Fishing from the dock was amazing! I would have provided pictures, but pan fish catches were quickly cleaned and frozen. We actually ran out of bait, but nearby shop had plenty to supply. The weather was sunny and breezy. I dont believe there would be one season better than another at this place. Very upen spaces, but felt close and cozy. Were aleady planning another get away at Kara's!

The house was very cute and access to the lake was fantastic. Although we did not use the wood, it was available for fires if you desired. If there was a downfall, it was that the bathroom is on the main level and all the bedrooms were upstairs. Microwave is in the pantry. Kitchen had everything that we needed. Everything was in good working order. You will need to bring your own water toys. We brought blow up Kayaks and innertubes. The water was surprisingly warm! Although the rental was expensive, it was exactly what we were looking to rent for the weekend and we were glad to have it available for us. Thanks Kara!
