Overall the condo is nice. The photos are perfectly accurate. It’s confortable with a nice view. The building is very pleasant and secure. The doormen are very helpful. The rooftop pool and breakfast room are quite unique. The location in the heart of Ipanema a block from the beach is very convenient. We faced a few minor issues which explain why we did not rated only 4 stars. We had no hot water the first day (to no fault of the host - it was a building issue). It got kind of fixed the next day, however the water remained lukewarm for the rest of the stay and never got hot enough for a bath. The living room AC was leaking a little. When we addressed these issues with the hosts I have to admit they were very nice and responsive. Also there was a strong gas smell in the apartment when we checked in. We turned off the gas and decided not to use the cooktop. Finally, the lights in the main bedroom never worked (I assume both bulbs are dead). Overall it was fine.

Nice spacious, comfortable apartment in a very secure building with 24 hour reception. Located 2 blocks from the beach in a safe neighbourhood with lots of good shops, supermarkets, resturants and metro nearby. Great views from the apartment and balconies and the possibility to have breakfast or lunch at the building's rooftop resturant is a plus - there is also a rooftop pool. Good communciation with host and easy check in and check out. Really enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
