Comfortable studio for 1-2 people, in a peaceful location on the edge of a small village, just 30 km from the Mediterranean beaches. Pets admitted on demand (25 €/stay) Studio/apartment (extension of owner's house) consisting of large room with two beds (twin beds), dining table, wardrobe, sofa, seats. Kitchen. Bathroom with shower and WC. Washing machine. Small terrace with view to parking and garden, but guests can put their chairs every where they want in the garden. The apartment is just a 5 min gentle walk from the village center where you will find a grocery shop (épicerie) with every day fresh bread (except for Monday). Supermarkets are in Lézignan-Corbières (abt. 6 km) where there is also a vibrant market every Wednesday.

Il s’agit d’une belle maison dans les terres. Une belle allée fleurie. Qui vous emmène directement vers le logement attenant à la maison. Un petit coin terrasse privée pour se poser et nous faire sentir chez nous. On a apprécié le coin douche et le coin cuisine parfaitement équipé.

We had the best stay at Nicole's and family. We were received with a real sense of hospitality, simplicity and kindness. The room is way more than a room, almost an independent apartment, with a kitchen part with fridge and sink, a separated bathroom, and the room is large and well furnished, providing a lounge area as well. The room offers a very private little terrace, very enjoyable, and the pool is huge and nice. Being not far from the cute sea sides of Gruissan and Port Leucate, it is a very good location to avoid the crowd of the tourists. The region is filled with vineyards and trees, making driving around a real pleasure. Finally, we had a great time and good laughter sharing a diner with Nicole's family on a summery evening outside, which made our trip complete. Definitely a gem.

Boutenac is in the center of all that is worthwile seeing, like:
Narbonne (20 km) with its rich history - here you will find for example the Via Domitia or the Horreum, the unique underground tunnels which once have formed part of the city of Narbo Martius, which was the capital of the Narbonne region during Roman times. Or the Cathedral of Saint-Just - Saint Pasteur (gothic, 13nd and 14th century) with its North Tower from where you can enjoy a splendid view of the town. Next to the cathedral is the Bishops´ Palace with a museum.
For those who like shopping there is the ´rue droite´ and a must-see is also the covered market ´Les Halles´. Along the canal de la Robine (boat trips available) you will find many restaurants and bars with a terrace.
About 40 km away is the Cité de Carcassonne. The many Cathare castles like Villerouge-Termenès, Peyrepertuse, Queribus and Puilaurens etc. are at about half an hour - one hour distance by car.
The Canal du Midi can be explored by bike or by boat (both available for rent at several places).
