The cottage felt like home, we didn't want to leave! Excellent location, Julie made us feel very welcome, the cottage is cozy and comfortable. We'd love to come back someday.

Stayed for a few nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. A beautifully compact, peaceful getaway, far enough away from the trappings of town but close enough should you need it. Julie's homemade bread and hedgerow jam was a very welcome delight for breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will happily stop by again!

Wow! Julie left us homemade bread, jam, eggs & juice for breakfast. Yum. It was a very tranquil place. She shared her yard with us, which had a lovely green, valley view, and a local steam train on a bridge... very English countryside! The road leading down to the house was a bit tricky, with limited access to turns, or to make a left, but we were able to do it. Just be aware that it is 'tight'. Stick with it, as it is totally worth it! There is also a wonderful 5 star pub within walking distance that we would rate very highly.

My dream was to find a quiet cottage in a rural location with access to villages, pubs, history, & nature via walking & public transport as I'd have no car. Julie's place was perfect for me. It was blissfully peaceful, relaxing, cozy & comfortable. Julie was super with info & answers. She assured me the cottage was accessible by public transport (if I was okay walking up & down hills). The lovely provisions including homemade bread & jam were a welcome treat that made it feel like coming “home.” I walked over hill & dale, through woods, pastures, & gorgeous villages. The region is charming, like going back in time. It's easy to see why so many period movies are filmed here. Recommendations: Walk to the Cross Guns in Avoncliff. Try the Padron peppers at Hartley Farm Restaurant. The folks at the Seven Stars were warm & welcoming. Take the free walking tour of Bath. Spend some time in the “secret” garden. If you’re lucky, maybe Herbie the cat will visit you! Thank you Ben & Julie!
