I highly, highly (10 STARS) recommend "Bear Paw Ranch". It is so peaceful and beautiful. Just to wake up and hear the outdoors every morning was so relaxing. Rose and her family are wonderful host. If we needed anything we had at within 10 mins. This is the second time we have stayed at the ranch, and it didn't disappoint. Me and family had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed everything on the Ranch. We also rented the tent down by the lake, it was also awesome! Thank you Rose for another wonderful stay! I’ve stayed in a lot of nice Airbnbs, but this one still stands out as extra special. My friends and I, three women, had a fantastic girls’ weekend at Rose’s place. The house was very pretty, clean, well-equipped and comfortable, and the ranch is beautiful especially with the fall leaves. Rose was very helpful and responsive. Rose connected us with a local food delivery place for dinner when we arrived, and that worked out really well. We spent the days hiking and exploring in this beautiful and remote area.

Edge-of-the-wilderness kind of special, peaceful, and people friendly. Our 2nd visit to the area and we left again with new adventures to tell and wanting to revisit new places discovered. The birding was fantastic from morning to night (Black Hawk to Peafowl to Tanagers to Vermillion Flycatchers to Black Vultures), lizards were “exotic”, and scenery from Gila to Mogollon, and winding backroads was an endless trail of flat lander “look at at that”, and “oh wow’s”. On-site, my son and I have never taken more photos—the ops were non-stop between the scenery, rustic ranch tools/equipment, ancient cabin, birds, trees. We wished we read the informative “House Manual” before or on arrival—a great intro to the property history, how to experience the area, and gives a glimpse of the kindness and welcoming owners’ family. The hospitality was so well thought out and generous. We were so busy, we would love to get back to stay at another of the guest homes or even just to “hi” the hosts.
