Beautiful home, peaceful and quiet. Comfortable beds, plenty of soft towels, coffee, tea and all essential kitchen needs and snacks. Exceptionally clean. Location is definitely in the middle of nowhere, yet easy drive to many great places. Great base for exploring the area. Host was quick to respond to any questions. Would definitely recommend.
Our stay at this AirBnB has been phenomenal! This was definitely one of the best stays I ever had and I wish we weren't only staying for one night. The house is located in a very quiet and peaceful area so one can really relax there and not be disturbed by anything. The house itself is very big, so you truly have a lot of space when you come with three or four people (and more, I forgot what the official maximum is), not like in many other places where you feel like hosts try to squeeze in as many people as possible in a place that barely fits one... The AirBnB was equipped with everything one could need. Washing machine, dryer, laundry detergent, great kitchen including utensils, coffee, condiments in the fridge, a BBQ outside... can't name a thing we missed! Oh, and as a side note: this area has barely any light pollution, so it's great for some star gazing! Have been to big bend just the night before and I can't say the night sky here was any darker :P

This is a fantastic home, very comfortable, clean, and well-stocked. We were a bit surprised that it wasn’t in a forest, but on rereading the description it does say “gateway to the Gila forest” which is accurate. Beautiful views.
Beautiful home! Better in person than in the pictures! Perfect location for a rest stop on our 6 day road trip. We traveled in on our Harley (caution for the uphill gravel road), and got to witness a snow storm. It was the perfect home to enjoy the indoor warmth. We picked up some wine and a tri-tip to cook on the grill from the previous town on our way in. We would definitely stay again - but more than one night next time!

The Cliff House is located in an unicorporated area between Cliff, Gila, and Buckhorn, New Mexico. The surrounding area has lots to offer from hiking, bird watching, off-road UTV/ATV adventures, scenic drives, and tourist attractions. The Gila National Forest is right next door, with over 3.5 million acres to explore.
Enjoy our location in the desert southwest. We are remote, without neighbors next door. We have five seasons here: winter is quite comfortable with a long-sleeved shirt or jacket while in the sun, and we call "winter" the months from mid December to early March. Spring and Fall are quite comfortable day and night. Summer starts about the end of June and lasts through mid October. This is the time to visit the Gila River, visit the charming shops in Silver City, or take a hike in the high altitude mountains. Our fifth season, Monsoon Season, see pop-up showers in the afternoons. We traditionally get our first rainstorm on July 4th! The rainy season generally ends around Sept 15. These afternoon and early evening showeres shouldn't interfere with your vacation with a little preparation.
Since we are remote, we need to drive a bit for City amenities. There is a post office, public library, medical clinic, a nearby gas station with some very basic groceries, and several churches. You will need to do your shopping in Silver City, 35 miles away. Silver City has several grocery stores including Walmart and Albertson's. We have good internet (check out the page for speeds) and your cell phone will work here; Verizon is best but Sprint and T-Mobile also work.
You'll need a car to get around. You can fly into our local airport, which is in the same County but over an hour away (yes, everything is BIG out here). The airport has a limited number of rentals available, and there's a limited number of rental cars in Silver City.
