Lake Roberts · 整套小木屋 · 1室2床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · Salt Creek Cabin in the Gila
Tranquil cabin at Salt Creek Ranch in the Gila National Forest. Comfy King bed, full kitchen, and a covered porch with views of horse pastures and beautiful mature trees that grow along Sapillo Creek (runs through the property). See creek crossing note... may need 4WD. Backs up to millions of acres of public land to hike or ride for hours. Surrounded by wildlife, birds, squirrels, chipmunks, deer, and more. Lake Roberts: 2 miles Gila Hot Springs: 15 miles Gila Cliff dwellings: 18 miles This lovely modern cabin will give you easy access to hiking in the Gila National Forest and Wilderness; fishing at Lake Roberts; soaking at the Gila Hot Springs; or exploring the Gila Cliff Dwellings. The cabin has an open floor plan, with the only interior walls being around the bathroom, creating lots of natural light and a pleasant uplifting place to "breathe". The kitchen is full-sized with all amenities to cook, bake, and eat. The kitchen shares space with the dining table that easily serves/seats four people. The kitchen counter extends down the wall for a sitting space with tall stools that looks out the window over the horse pasture... a great place to sip on a cup of java in the morning during cooler weather when you'd rather be inside than out on the patio. The King-size bed has a Dormeo topper, as well as two Dormeo pillows. Dormeo pillows have a soft side and a firm side, so flip them over to see which side you like best! Additional pillows are also stored in the cabin closet. The futon sleeper sofa easily folds out to provide a sleeping space for one additional person (though not a very large person). There is additional bedding and pillows in the closet. The outdoor spaces... the front covered patio has beautiful views of the horse pastures and is equipped with a small table with chairs or two outdoor recliners to take in the views. The back yard is a natural gateway into the forest. If you spend a morning or evening sitting in the chairs in this space... it's like watching a Disney movie at times with all the forest animals coming and going from the feeders... all kinds of birds, chipmunks, and squirrels. There is a small pair of binoculars in the cabin with a couple of bird books for this region. We welcome horses to the ranch, as well! We keep four stalls with paddocks in the barn for visiting horses. Check with us for availability and to make arrangements.
Lauren's dog-friendly place is beautifully located in the heart of the Gila. Peaceful wilderness on a farm with wonderful views of a horse pasture. Lauren is very responsive, helpful and everything is as described. When I let her know that we would be arriving after dark, she made sure all the lights were turned on and the fireplace was lit. Felt like coming home. We enjoyed watching the many varieties of birds that visited multiple bird-feeders outside the front and back porch. This was our second visit to Lauren's home and we would come again!
We enjoyed staying at Lauren's cabin. Very comfortable and well furnished. Quiet location. Great location for exploring the Gila National Forrest and Silver City.
It was our second time here. We love the area and the place. The cabin has everything one would need for a long and short stay. The property back ups to the National Forest and we could just walk out of the cabin and keep going. There are lots of hikes and hot springs in the area. Lauren and co. are friendly and warm. Overall, it was very peaceful and we'd love to return.
Located about 50 minutes north of Silver City and surrounded by 3.2 million acres of Gila National Forest and Gila Wilderness. Great central location to access the Gila Cliff Dwellings, Lake Roberts, Gila Hot Springs, and endless trails.
Cabin is located on a horse ranch, so your neighbors are the ranch owners (a couple hundred feet away), the horses (also a couple hundred feet away), squirrels/chipmunks/birds/bunnies (right out your back door). The back door opens up to the Gila National Forest, so you can hike right out of the cabin through the ponderosa pines.
Close to Lake Roberts, endless hiking, ATV trails, horse trails, jeeping.

I'm a beach-raised country girl from Oregon to Colorado to New Mexico. A horse trainer all my life who "semi-retired" into the hospitality business a couple years back and am now nestled into my dream spot of the vast Gila National Forest in SW New Mexico, loving being able to share the place I love with visitors. 3.2 Million acres to play in with our horses, motorcycles, hiking, and jeep. What more could a girl ask for?!? :-)
