Follow the donkey. Beautiful farm in the country. Quiet, peaceful, and only a few miles from Snow Hill. Surrounded by larger cities, Greenville, Wilson, Kinston and Goldsboro, all within a short drive. Near Cutter Creek Golf, ECU and Chef and the Farmer. Bedroom has double bed and private bath. I stayed at Patricia's home for a work trip, but it felt more like a mini-vacation. The property located away from the city makes it the most peaceful and perfect stay. Patricia is hands down the most inviting host I have ever met. She is very kind, generous, and extremely friendly. The property is absolutely beautiful. Its therapeutic. Her animals (scruffy cute dog, a kitty, and 2 horses, and a donkey) were also the sweetest, with their own personalities. Not to mention the rest of the wildlife she has on the property, which include chickens, turtles, and beautiful fish. This stay is really unique. Its almost like a location you would use for a wedding venue or any other grand event. The rest of the house is so cozy and comfortable and its extremely relaxing. Only bad thing is that you forget that its not your home and you have to leave. I can't recommend Patricia and this small getaway-like stay more.
Patricia's place is an oasis of peace, serenity, and beauty. The rural farm setting awakens your mind and senses while at the same time quieting the "noise" of living in today's world. Patricia makes her place inviting with her warm southern hospitality. I have been in this area since 1990, always in the city limits, and this is my first time experiencing the relaxing effects of driving from the country into the city and driving out of the city into the country. With each commute it feels like I am changing worlds; however, because of its' central location getting from Patricia's place to Greenville/Vidant Medical Center, Winterville, and Goldsboro is less stressful than when your starting part is in the hub bub of the city. Life on the farm is good. Life on Patricia's farm is best! Patricia makes you feel at home immediately while also respecting your privacy. If you are going to be in or around this area, you owe it to yourself to stay at Patricia's place and experience Eastern NC from right here.
Ms. Patricia’s House was amazing so clean and in such a beautiful location! I felt at home! I had a very stressful week, my first week away on my own, my first clinical experience for school and she was so helpful with places to eat and how to get around the area and she just made the whole week so much better for me! I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay!
Beautiful and serene farm country, perfect for getting some R&R away from the city lights. I even got to feed the fish and turtles in the pond! Patricia's gracious southern hospitality brought back fond childhood memories of staying at Grandma's house.

This spacious home is in the country on a 30 acre farm surrounded by hay fields and horse pastures, about 3 miles outside of the Greene County seat of Snow Hill. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself driving behind a tractor or combine that has been working on a farm and now slowly lumbering down the road to another location. It is a quiet country place with a lot of nature to enjoy and explore. Convenient to larger cities, Greenville, Wilson, Kinston and Goldsboro, all within a 20-30 minute drive. Only 15 minutes from Cutter Creek Golf and 20 minutes from famed Chef and the Farmer and Boiler Room in Kinston. East Carolina University, Vidant Medical Center, SJAF base, LCC, PCC, Barton Univ, are within a 25 minute drive. Bedroom consists of a double bed with private bath. Sheets, towels, shampoo, hairdryer, and iron all available. I also have an additional bedroom if there are more than 2 guests, or if the 2 guests prefer separate bedrooms. Bath would be shared between the two bedrooms. Additional charge for adding another bedroom. Access to laundry available...share with homeowner. Long term rates are available and negotiable, depending on length of stay.
The ranch is a great place to view stars at night. Very little light pollution here. Also, lots of wildlife always available to watch. Deer come to the pond at night and in the mornings for a sip of water. Owls, herons, pileated woodpeckers, hawks, rabbits, squirrels, all easy to see most days. In the summer the bird count is glorious. Just sit back and enjoy, or take a nature walk. Two beautiful horses and one small donkey call this home, too. They love to be fed peppermints and will come to greet you.
Also, just a short walk or golf cart ride is a small boutique breakfast and sweet shop, Farmer and the Dail, open everyday but Sunday and Monday. They have fresh coffee and wonderful food such as Grit Bowls, Bacon and Cheese Biscuit Bombs, sweet rolls, cookies, cakes, cheese straws, chicken salad, pimento cheese, brownies, and much, much more. And, only a short hop away. Dine in or bring it back to enjoy on the deck.
During the summer, there are fresh fruit and vegetables everywhere in the neighborhood. And during the fall, crops are being harvested. You will be in the heart of tobacco and sweet potato country and see how it all comes together.

Meeting new people and making friends is always fun. My country farm and house are large enough to share with others that may need a comfortable and safe place to stay. I volunteer quite a bit so I am very busy and there is always some sort of repair going on or art project in the works here. I grew up in eastern North Carolina on a tobacco farm, so I can tell you about all the best food, local sights and maybe send you to new places you may not know about. Lots of fun things to do and see. And you can help me feed the fish and give donkey peppermints. What are you waiting for?
