We loved the farm, sunsets; the horses and cows are all entertaining! We visited the nearby towns and had good dining-out experiences. The house had everything we need, wanted, and more! There were four of us retired women that travel together frequently and by far this was the most comfortable, most peaceful and roomy AirBNB we have rented. Loved the walk in showers, large bedrooms, comfortable beds and chefs kitchen. The furniture was comfortable and lovely. We definitely will be going back. Highly recommend. Close to Chapell Hill, Brenham , Burton and Round Top. The wildflowers were beautiful this year and we loved the Alpacas at Peeka Ranch in Burton. Midge was a great host! She went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable.
MIDGEs magical farmhouse was everything we’d hoped for during our Christmas getaway. She made sure everything was festive and welcoming for our family (including our dog) and even went above and beyond to make sure we had some food available after a very long road trip. She made some wonderful suggestions for things to do and made her instructions/process for check in and check out super easy for us. Her place is special indeed with amazing sunsets, peaceful animals, squatting deer :) and whimsical and welcoming decor. It felt like being in a familiar friend’s or families house-not like a sterile hotel or some of the sparse “on the cheap” bnb’s out there. Everything you’d expect to have at HOME was at Midge’s - (she even has great knives, cookware and wine stoppers!!) . We enjoyed playing family games and watching tv and all the things you’d do in the comfort of home. Thank you Midge for having such a unique experience - available to Air bnb. We loved our time in your home!!

Midge’s beautiful farmhouse was the perfect place for our short stay in Washington. The rooms were spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the exterior space was an absolute dream! We will be back for our travels in the future.

Built in 1899, this totally modern historic farmhouse welcomes guests to country life. The farm on 22 acres is surrounded by hills and rolling terrain. Start your day with a cup of morning coffee and watch breathtaking sunsets as you reminisce over an evening glass of wine. There is a peace that the quietness of small town country life brings, and guests will find that and so much more here at my farm. Arabian mares graze in pastures, along with cows and at times a deer or two. A young colt draws people to him. Guests find respite in the shade of enormous live oaks, thanks to my children who planted over 40 live oak saplings many years ago. The paved road to the farm attracts bikers, joggers walkers, and runners. Hikers and history buffs alike can explore Washington-on-the-Brazos State Park, only 10 minutes away. At back of the park is the Brazos River. Take an awe inspiring hike along the river bank. Along the way, you will learn a bit of this famous river’s history. Bring boots to for country activities. There are many places to explore. Raymond West wrote a book about my place: “Bennie Krueger, Texas Ranger…Texas Gentleman.” Jesus, Farm Manager, checks on the farm daily. He is helpful and knows number of guests to expect. *MAIN HOUSE: Sleeps 8 people in 4 downstairs bedrooms, each with bath access. *a spacious 5th bedroom with a full bath is upstairs. It can sleep 2 A wet bar, work space and sitting area provide extra room for larger groups. *PET FEE:There is a pet fee of $50 per day per dog with a maximum of 2 dogs. Dogs cannot be left alone in house. They must be crated. RESERVATION AND PRICING: The price for your stay is determined by the number of guests in house. Each additional guest is charged $95 per night. ***Longer stays receive discounts. ****Check out time: 11:00 am ****Check in time: 2:00 SPECIAL PLACES *Chapelton Vineyard is over the hill behind my property. Guests love it and so do I. *R’s PLACE is a favorite bistro that serves a delicious 3 course dinner on Saturday night and often a barbeque lunch on Sunday lunch.
