For the 2018 season we upgraded to a new Atlas Oasis caravan The first few pictures on this listing are taken from the supplier's brochure and the next ten photos or so are of the actual Caravan, followed by some local scenes. There have been some minor changes to furnishings and internal layout. The caravan is a 6 berth but is ideal for two adults or up to a family of 4, and stands on a quiet site 5 minutes walk from Porthilly beach, close to Rock, Padstow, and all the Camel Estuary facilities. The site is low key, with no facilities on site other than a central toilet block where there are also showers, and a clothes washing machine and tumble drier.
Beautiful caravan and surrounding area. Very modern and very clean. We loved being able to walk to the local beach and get on the ferry to Padstow.
We had a lovely stay. The caravan had everything that we needed. Lots of toys and book which are toddler loved! Shame it isn’t properly cleaned between bookings but it was clean enough. Would recommend.
The caravan was well-stocked and easy to get into but I thought it wasn’t great value for money. £400+ for three nights for somewhere that didn’t have hot water, no linen, and no cleaning service between guests. We also suffered from a lack of electricity one night but I think this was a site-wide problem and nothing to do with the caravan itself. We’d stay again if we were in the area but only if the prices came down.
The North Coast of Cornwall is famous for its rugged beauty, historic harbours and beautiful beaches and coves. The South West Coast Path provides amazing coastal views.
The main shops of Rock are just a 10/15 minute walk away, mainly on off-road paths. Larger supermarket shopping is available in Wadebridge, just 4 miles away.
- Porthilly beach and St Michael’s Church are just a 5 minute walk away.
- Rock beach and the main ferry departure point to Padstow is a 15 minute walk along the beach at low tide.
- The Beaches of Daymer Bay, Polzeath, Lundy Bay, and the historic harbours of Port Quin and Port Isaac are all within easy driving distance.
- The Camel Cycle Trail ( and bike hire) can be accessed at either Wadebridge or Padstow, and there are several golf courses in the area.
- Sailing, sea fishing, and other water sports are all available in the Camel Estuary. Or you can just sit on the beach!
- The Caravan site is a peaceful one and care and consideration for the other users of the site is expected at all times.
Public transport in the area is limited.
The nearest mainline railway station is Bodmin Parkway, which can be accessed by bus from Padstow.
There is a regular foot ferry between Padstow and Rock, on which bikes can be taken.
