Great place away from the city. Great views and would imaging in the summer would be even greater. There was a snow storm the night before and I do wish the entrance and the driveway were shoveled. The driveway entrance was covered by the plows. Other than that great place and would recommend staying there. The record player was great! Love that we were able to bring our fur babies!

Was a nice place - jacuzzi was very nice fireplace was nice - horse was nice as well. Silverware and kitchen not as clean as I expected. Microwave did not have a pleasant smell. Some cobwebs on the ceiling in the master bedroom. The surrounding area didn’t have much to do but was a great relaxing escape from our busy lives. Very scenic nice to hike or see country life/animals. John was a nice host no complaints!

We took our kids and dogs for a winter weekend in the Catskills. Our goal was peace, freedom and enjoying nature. This rental provided that and then some. We were impressed by the location/services offered for this price. The house was fantastic! It is not a super modern, super bougie location, but that is not what we were seeking. We were thrilled with the ease of renting, getting there, getting in, the stay and the absolutely serene and beautiful location. The owner were incredibly friendly and kind. They even allowed access to their horses on the property (petting, visiting and feeding snacks only) which was a big selling point for us. The house is enormous. We so enjoyed the wood fireplace in the main living room. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The house is fully stocked with linens and quality amenities that anyone would appreciate during a visit. Our dogs were welcomed (no allowed on furniture of course though) and that made the experience even more enjoyable.

John's home was a delightful retreat! Nestled in serene surroundings, it offers a perfect blend of comfort and nature. The home is cozy, well-maintained, and equipped with all the essentials. Amazing record collection, a wide array of games, and perhaps the best fireplace I’ve ever used. Did I mention there are 2 friendly horses in the backyard? John set us up with all the local hikes and places we should check out. The location is ideal for exploring the beautiful upstate area, with easy access to local attractions. Whether you're looking for a peaceful getaway or an adventurous trip, this place is a hidden gem. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a memorable stay in Gilboa!

We came for a rest and we definitely got it. The house is very comfortable and roomy. And the steam shower was great. We didn't have a chance to try the whirlpool bathtub. Short drive to town. Nice, quiet and pretty surroundings.
