A deceptive description and an uncomfortable stay. When we arrived at Nuwan's place from the very beginning it felt strange. He immediately told our driver that he could not enter and had to leave immediately (our driver was a great person and such a reaction felt paranoid at the least, classiest at its worst). We discovered at check-in that we would only have access to the first floor and only a section of it. Apparently, Nuwan lived on the 2nd floor and operated his business out of the house. This was the thing that made me the most uncomfortable. We also discovered that despite the listing showing air conditioning (now removed) there was none except in one room. In one room there was just two weak plug in fans and nothing overhead. It made that room extremely hot, even at night despite assertions that there was "natural ventilation". Despite us locking our rooms, he or his staff would enter at their leisure. Sometimes to just turn off the A/C, which was left on due to the extreme heat and the need to cool two rooms. In the room that was connected it had an overhead fan and air conditioner. These functioned fine. The adjoining room had a similarly weak plug in fan. The wifi was confined to a small area of the house that essentially made it useless unless you were in the interconnected room. The pool was very nice, however after leaving he mentioned to me that there was a rule that we could only use the pool from 8am to 8pm (never said that to anyone of us before). The reason he mentioned this is because he has a very rambunctious dog that chewed up one of our sandals at the house. When we mentioned it he decided there was a new rule and that he needed the exact time we were out by the pool to reimburse us. Additionally, it turns out he has security cameras that he monitors throughout the home. If you think you will have any privacy here, think again. You are not able to enter the property at your leisure and often he will lock the door requiring you to ring the bell which he will leisurely answer making it difficult to come in and out without feeling like your inconveniencing him. Lastly, I have to mention his or his staff's lurking. Either he or his staff would lurk around where we were constantly. Not sure if it was to ensure we were behaving or to help in someway, but it felt more like spying. Poor privacy again. As I stated, not everything was bad. The pool itself is quite nice and the breakfast he provided was nice, however I don't believe this is made up for by the disingenuous property description and the myriad of ways he would make us feel uncomfortable. At the end of the day we made the best of it, but I would recommend just having your expectations straight here. You are renting 3 rooms and having partial pool access something that can be provide at any one of a ton of places in the area for a lesser cost.

Breakfast was so good ! Loads of choice and delicious catered for every need. Where can I begin with the beauty of this place ? It really is unreal. A proper oasis of calm - this place would suit people who are looking for the little touches and want a calm and relaxed get away somewhere to switch off. We loved it perfect for my mum, dad, husband and I ❤️❤️❤️ thank you so much x

What a beautiful place! Full of charm and elegance. The swimming pool was delightful and the garden was full of beautiful birds. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. A surprising oasis in the busy the town. Nuwan was really helpful with local information and tips.

Nuwan was very nice and cave very good tips for what to do in weligama and near places. Breakfast was awesome and everything we wanted to do Nuwan orcanized when we asked for it! And the house was perfect with pool and garden

We all had such a great time at Robinhill Suites because of the way Nuwan has restored the Dutch Colonial house and the furniture and objects he has collected to give it real character. The level of hospitality ( the fabulous breakfasts) and the recommendations of local restaurants and travel advice made our stay even better. The pool and the surrounding landscaping is lush and well-planned, private and refreshing. We will highly recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting Sri Lanka and would like to visit again.
