This place is absolutely magical. What a memorable stay we had. Definitely a bit far if you’re going back and forth to the Mt Desert Island part of Acadia but really cool to spend time in the much-less-touristy Birch and Winter Harbors. Can’t wait to return!! Also Amelie was lovely and gave us wonderful recommendations. 5 stars!

We had a wonderful stay at Dragonwood. The house was as magical as we had hoped and Amelie was very helpful before our trip with tips about the house and local area. The new deck and grill are great additions!

I received a call about check in instructions which lasted just shy of an hour, I believe she read me the entire guest handbook and house rules. The yard needed mowed and limbs should have been trimmed as you had to duck under branches as you walked towards the front door. The view of the water was blocked from overgrowth and had to walk through weeds to get to the water. I was told there was an area blocked off for an addition but it looked like a septic area and was not even near the house. The picnic table on the ground level was dirty and had not been cleaned for a long time. There were bugs in some of the pots in the cabinets. The house is older than the pictures show. The stairs are pretty steep leading upstairs. It is a true artist eclectic home, one of a kind and quirky but we were disappointed for the money it cost, especially that the view of the water was obstructed from overgrowth because it could have been spectacular if maintained.

awesome place for kids! very peaceful and beautiful location.
