Had a great stay in Umhlanga. Calvin was great and attended to our requests very promptly. Monkeys kept us on our toes! We would happily go back.

Calvin was easy to contact throughout, collecting keys from the agency was easy. The area of Umhlanga Rocks has plenty of restaurants and shopping. The beaches are sandy, but bathing in the area is restricted due to water quality and strong undercurrents. The Kyalanga building is old & needs some TLC, the apartment was clean and spacious for 2 people. However, I was expecting the quality of the fixtures and fittings to be better for a newly renovated apartment. The sofas, dining table & chairs whilst functional, were all due for replacement, the sun loungers were unusable, the cushions for the outside seating were frankly disgusting, all torn & dirty. I reported the last 2 items immediately to be told they would be quickly removed, but weren't. We then found there was a mouse in the apartment, Calvin reacted quickly to get pest control, but other wings of the building have had this problem previously. The view is directly out to the ocean, but with 20-30 stationary tankers in view.

It was nice to stay at Calvin's place. The location was excellent. Very clean. Unfortunately, the one shower was getting either hot or cold and had little to no pressure. The beds were very hard and unfortunately uncomfortable. Another thing was that the staff broke some glasses and we were made responsible for it, but thanks to Airbnb insurance we didn't need to pay ourselves. Everything else was perfect!

Great location with easy access to the beach. Clean and tidy apartment and had everything that we needed. Was disappointed that no toilet paper was provided considering we paid R28k for 7 nights. Sliding door was a bit of an issue with opening and closing. Parking was tight for SUV vehicles. But all in all, a great place.
