We had a fantastic family weekend. We had a great little nature walk close to the house...we even saw a beaver! The kitchen and dining room were plenty big enough for us to prepare and enjoy our dinners togeather. We had a great time!

The Black Walnut House was a terrific venue for our family Christmas party. The layout is a little tricky and parking was extremely difficult to manage (two family members had to dedicate most of their time at the party to moving cars & shuttling people a mile to & from the house) but all-in-all, such a special spot to celebrate a holiday. Quintessential New England & so much charm.

Black walnut house was exactly as pictured. A great old house with tons of colonial charm. When we arrived around 8pm the house was cold, we read the instructions and turned up the zones. Sadly the house never warmed up and the water in the shower was freezing. We all went to bed early and left the house by 5:30am. Before leaving I noticed the clock on the stove was flashing. Driving away in the pitch black there were a dozen Eversource trucks along the road. Yup the power was out in the area. Jen and Mike opened up another property nearby for us. This second home was warm and wonderful. They really are the perfect hosts, they went above and beyond to be sure we were comfortable and taken care of. 5 stars all the way.

We literally could not have picked a more perfect spot to host our family Thanksgiving. Upon entering, one can sense both the history and serenity of this beautiful and well-appointed home. The grounds and dining hall are set up to host an elegant event. Our family took full advantage of the peaceful garden and walking trails nearby. This is the most "homey" of all the Airbnbs I've stayed in, the kitchen has most everything needed for dining and entertaining, and we loved the attention to detail in the choice of decor especially the beautiful wood pieces. The house is very close to shopping, attractions and dining in Plymouth.
