A bright, beautiful flat up for sublet! The basics: Location: Oil Street, North Point. Next door neighbour to Harbour Grand Hotel, down the block from Newton Hotel and Shama Service Apartments. In other words, pretty darn central and convenient! Transportation: Less than two minutes walking to Fortress Hill MTR, buses to EVERYWHERE (including a direct bus to Stanley!), trams, mini-bus, even the Airport Express free shuttle and Harbour Grand Hotel shuttle! I work in Central and it takes me 15 minutes by bus or by MTR. I am planning to travel and want someone to come and enjoy my little sancturary! The flat itself is on the 5th floor of a 20 floor building, 2 flats per floor (very private), 24-hour security with access card entry. The suite itself was renovated just before I moved in about two years ago. And I travel frequently for work so the place is very well-kept and tidy. At 400 s.f., this one bedroom is very spacious. I don't like clutter but it does have all the necessities (air conditioner x 3, fan, dining table, bed, sofabed, tv, fridge, stove, le creuset pots and pans, eating utensils, free wifi) and the non-necessities (aromatherapy air freshener, Creative bluetooth speaker, clothes steamer, and a Nespresso machine!!!) I love a bright flat so I changed to brand new blinds after I moved in. The look and feel is definitely minimalist chic! There are soooooooooo many restaurants within a two block radius! Thai, Vietnamese, Western, Japanese, Chinese and western bakeries, tea houses, dessert house, burger joint, congee house, bars, dim sums . . . also close to three major supermarkets, pharmacies, banks, doctors, chiropractors, manicurist, beauty parlors, full-service laundry (1 minute walk!!) I am a rubbish photographer but my iPhone photos should give you a basic idea. I have more photos if you are interested. Who you are: a clean, respectful, responsible non-smoker. You either just moved to HK and getting sick of living in a hotel, or you are visiting HK for the summer internship or school or for leisure. Send me an email and tell me a bit about yourself. Look forward to hearing from you soon!
Angela did a great job of making us feel welcomed. She shared her experience of the neighbourhood and some of her favourite places to eat. She is a clear communicator and responds quickly to any questions. Her place is in Fortress Hill, which is a fantastic part of HongKong. This would be the number 1 attraction of staying here. You can walk to Victoria Park in minutes. You are also minutes away from TinHau which is a great area for restaurants. Fortress Hill itself has plenty on offer, as does Causeway bay which is a 10 min walk away. It's hard to imagine a more perfect location. The apartment is suited more for short-term stays. The kitchen is small and not well equipped for cooking, which isn't a problem if you are sampling all the culinary feasts of the city. Espresso machine was lovely!
Location is perfect just 100 meters from the MTR, Supermarkets, Starbucks - in short everything is within reach. The Apartment is as shown on the photos. Very clean and perfect for 2 people or a couple. Angie, the host, and very nice and extremely helpful, and I would definitely book it again.
The neighbourhood is awesome! Super convenient but still has a 'neighbourhood' feel. There's a mini-park across that regularly hosts music events and community events on weekends. (http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/CE/Museum/APO/en_US/web/apo/about_oi.html)
TONS of restaurants, all the usual Chinese-fare but also Japanese, Thai, Korean, Starbucks x 2, Simply Life (Western cafe with great coffee and salads), Western restaurants, bar … you name it, you pretty much got it! Either dine in or delivery.
Is it EVER convenient!
- 2-minute walk to MTR, numerous busses (including direct bus to airport, ferry terminals, Stanley, many parts of Kowloon and New Territories).
- A leisurely 5 minute walk to Tram stop, which will take you all along the north side of HK Island, from East (Shau Kei Wan) to West (Kennedy Town) for HKD$2.30 flat rate!
- Mini buses as well … though I confess I am not so knowledgeable in taking them.
- Taxis are abundant! I am surrounded by hotels (including the Harbour Grand next door) so no shortage at all.
- There is also an Airport Express shuttle which runs every 20 minutes. You board at the hotel next door and it will take you to Central (Hong Kong Station).
- Also the Harbour Grand shuttle can be accessed as well. It's officially for hotel guests only but it is usually quite empty and they do not check for room IDs. This shuttle takes you to Causeway Bay, Wan Chai, Admiralty or Hong Kong Station.
