My son and I came up for a Father/Son weekend of gravel riding and baking at King Arthur's. The location was privately set off the main road and the host allowed us to store our bikes inside to protect from the weather. He also had lots of recommendations for dinner and things to do that were all just a short drive away. The host was also flexible with our arrival/departure times and breakfast reservation times.

This is such a beautiful place! Loved being in a historic building. Andy was welcoming, proactive, knew a lot about the history of the house and area, and helped us have a lovely stay. He offered us to stay in a more elegant room for just a few dollars more which we took advantage of. We had a comfortable bed, balcony with beautiful view, electric fireplace for ambiance, & an elegant and cute bathroom with a chandelier(!). Note: there are several different rooms, the one in the photos with the poster bed and wood stove is different from the one we were originally booked for (the Grey Room). Both rooms we saw had one bed. I’d confirm with the host if you need a sofa bed too. He invited us to take advantage of the “pub” which has another fireplace, board games, large screen TV with remote, and a bar. It was nice to relax there after our trip. For breakfast there was OJ, tea/coffee, cantaloupe, a muffin (or yogurt for the gluten free member of our party), and sausage.

If I could give this place more than five stars - I would! This is the perfect getaway and I can not recommend it enough. The place is beautiful with lots of history and we felt right at home. Andy, the hotel keeper, is one of the friendliest you'll ever meet and he'll help you with anything you need, restaurant reservations, rekommendations on places to go and things to see etc. The service was truly beyond great. Other than that the rooms were really nice and clean, breakfast was delicious and there's a cozy bar for hotell guests only where you can enjoy a drink and some board games. I'd say this place has something for everyone, a must if you're visitning vermont!

Windsor Mansion is an unique setting in a huge, circa 1902 home built by a New York family in Windsor, VT. In it's current iteration, furnishings are a bit spartan but the view is great, rooms are comfortable and our host couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly.
