Located on 4 acres, you get some solitude from busy roads at Casita Meg, as well as gorgeous sunset views. There are a couple of nearby restaurants and a small grocery (10 min walk), while downtown Santa Elena is 20 mins by foot. The Casita is spacious and well laid out. Plenty of room in the bedroom (mattress is great), kitchen, bathroom, and the living room. The pictures show detail, but I feel it is even better in person. Casita Meg has plenty of windows for light, and screens to let air through. Phoebe is a warm and welcoming host. She gladly helped with any info and touristing questions we had. Her daughter Susu lives on the property to help as backup. She and her husband Marcos have a guide service, PasionCostaRica. Marcos toured us at the Monteverde Cloud Forest for a morning of birding and wildlife viewing. He is amiable and has a wealth of local history and wildlife expertise. I highly recommend you consider them if seeking a guide service.

Phoebe was a wonderful host, as were her pups and family members who lived down the road. We highly recommend a stay at this AirBnB, if you are headed to Monteverde, Costa Rica. Also, her son-in-law, Marcos is a fabulous birding guide for the nature reserves that abound around Monteverde…especially the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve/Station. He and his wife Susu run Pasion Costa Rica and can help with planning your trips. They are fabulous.

Phoebe’s place is beautifully appointed in an expansive hideaway within the tourist area of Monteverde. The touristy downtown area is a ten minute walk. The property is lush and well-maintained with lots of plantings and potted plants. We were treated to beautiful sunsets and rainbows that we could enjoy from the sitting area of our house. This is a remarkable deal for the space and privacy this location affords. Phoebe is a delight and we had lovely conversations. An incredible added convenience are the tourist services offered by Phoebe’s daughter and son-in-law who run Pasion Costa Rica - a boutique tourist-centric business offering personalized flora/fauna tours, birding treks, night walks and other popular tourist activities. This is a one stop shop!

My family and I loved staying at Casita Meg! Phoebe was a gracious host and made sure we had everything we needed. The property is so beautiful, and the view is amazing - the pictures in the listing don't do it justice. The house is spacious and comfortable. We didn't cook (because there are so many great restaurants nearby!), but the kitchen was equipped for cooking. It's a nice walk to town for coffee and dinners and shopping. The area feels very safe. Highly recommend it!

Phoebe and her daughter and their family were such gracious hosts to my mother and I! We fell in love with the property and saw amazing sunsets of Monteverde right at the Airbnb. The location was very walkable to the center of town and you can book tours through Pasión Costa Rica which is through Phoebes daughter who was incredibly helpful and responsive to any needs we needed, especially in the case of managing our shuttle out of Monteverde. 10/10 would recommend this place for a peaceful getaway!
