The old school house was fabulous. Great spot and beautiful house with plenty of space and perfectly fitted out with everything you need. Emma and Alistair were very friendly and gave us great walking and dinner recommendations. Emma was a very responsive host and left some lovely biscuits, Prosecco and tablet to greet us on arrival. The surrounding area is amazing with plenty of walking, biking and boat trips to the small isles to explore. A great find.

We spent a fantastic week in Emma’s house with our 2 daughters. The spot is absolutely unique with a breathtaking view on the Loch Morar. The place is very calm with sheeps everywhere :-) there are many walks we can have in the area , Mallaig is 15-20 minutes away. You can also easily reach Skye with the ferry. It was a pleasure to meet Emma the last night who was very friendly.

The house is superbly located - peaceful, with beautiful views across Loch Morar and the surrounding mountains. Sheep, geese and lots of interesting insect and bird life - we managed to spot the cuckoo in the oak tree by the house. Great walks from the house, along the lochside and over the hill to the remote shores of Loch Nevis (inaccessible by car), as well as further afield. Local swimming was glorious, with very clear water - the sea's bracing, but the loch itself was surprisingly mild. Mallaig is quite busy with tourists, but it has a good fish shop with local smoked and wet fish, an excellent bakery and a decent chipper (shellfish shack in Arisaig also v. good). Mallaig fuel station was still out of action at the time (be sure to fill up in Fort William). The house was well furnished and comfortable, with everything we needed. Check in was easy and it was great to meet Emma and Alistair, who were very friendly and helpful. Overall, a fantastic place. Highly recommended.

A gem of a place, in a beautiful location! These are the kind of places that you find on AirBnB, which adds the charm of being in a beautiful corner of the world, with all the conveniences at hand. The kind of place that makes you feel lucky and happy that you found it. So much to see, just around the house itself, and the beauty of highlands in all directions if you want to wander further. Emma was a kind, responsive and helpful host, which made everything so much better.

We usually stay in places with more of a sea and island view; but we had stopped there before for walks and knew it was a lovely spot with excellent views over the Loch and really peaceful. The house was really nice and comfortable. We could have done with space at the entrance for hanging coats and keeping boots. Luckily it was dry so it didn't matter too much, and Alistair says they plan to fix it soon. No mobile signal most of the time. They'd just updated the internet to satellite so well above expectations for the area. (They hadn't updated the instructions, but easily sorted.) The internet wasn't that important to us , but did mean we could keep in touch with our sun bivvying near the top of Ladhar Bheinn (where there's plenty of mobile signal).
