The Boathouse was a fantastic place to stay, with a truly beautiful location. Fiona and Ian were really welcoming and helpful. We had a great time.

This is the most wonderful house in a stunning location, just returned from a week here and already dreaming about coming back! The house is beautiful, wonderfully comfortable with everything you could possibly need. The lake was the real hit though - you have it all to yourselves, perfect for messing around on the paddleboards, fishing and wild swimming. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets and incredible for just sitting back and getting away from it all. Fiona and Ian were super helpful and welcoming all the way through and provided lots of lovely little touches which were hugely appreciated. There are some lovely paths just minutes away along the canal to walk or cycle to interesting places too if you can drag yourself away from the lake! I didn't really want to write a good review because honestly, I'd prefer not to let anyone else in on our new favourite staycation - but I am sure anyone would have an incredible time here. Big thanks again to Fiona and Ian for sharing their fabulous home with us and we hope to be back next year!

We stayed here late July 2020 for a family trip. For starters, the booking process was seamless, quick responses and detailed communication set the trip up for success. Hosts were present on arrival, there to talk us through the house and anything we needed. The house itself is gorgeous. We absolutely fell in love with the house. The master bedroom looks out on to the lake, while the kitchen / living space opens out onto a decking next to the lake, equipped with BBQ & table for 6. We have front row seats each dinner time to the beautiful views. If you like the wildlife as much as we do, you’re blessed with lots of ducks & swans, who are a wonder to watch. (Even a pet store 5 minutes drive away for safe duck food!) The kitchen has everything you need, the house is clean and tidy (COVID compliant). The living space has enough seats for 6 to watch a film in comfort. The trip itself was a delight. We had the hosts on hand to accommodate day trips on the lake (water skiing) and even advise us on where to go. The hosts went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable, which is admirable and much appreciated. We want to say a special thank you to the hosts, who made our trip a memorable one. Would recommend this place to stay, as a beautiful country get away.
