Overall the house is fantastic but check the area on Google maps - if you're not a relatively fit person, you may find walking back from town a challenge. Kitchen was well equipped with Washing Machine, Tumble dryer & Dishwasher along with all the pots, pans & crockey you'll ever need. Bedrooms were comfy nice spaces to be in & having 3 bathrooms was a win for our large party. Lounge TV room is roomy but not quite big enough for a party of 7 to have a movie night! The house is light & spacious enough that our party of 7 didn't get in each others way even on wet & rainy evenings The garden is a lovely space & nice that it's separate from off road parking too. There's enough space to rinse & dry wetsuits & we stored boards etc with no problems at all. The house is well positioned being really close to town, pubs, restaurants & the quay. The beach is slightly too far to walk if you've young kids or you're taking lots of paraphernalia with you. & where ever you walk to be ready for the uphill stint on the way back! Overall a great place for a large group to spend a week.

A lovely house, lots of space, a home from home. Just a short walk to the main High St but be aware it’s up hill on the way back although not too steep. Nice and clean, in a quiet residential location.

This review is based on a two week stay at The Yellow House from the end of July. It was an expensive stay but as the house is advertised as sleeping 11 (which it does) and we were only 6 this is not something we felt too strongly about (after a long period of reflection!). The support from Rose prior to arrival was excellent and clear. The description of the house was accurate. The location was mentioned in previous reviews and the surrounding area lacks any charm but we had no problems with this and whilst it is a very steep route into town it was quick and very close to the centre of town. The cleanliness of the house requires a special mention. It was immaculate and had obviously undergone a deep clean. Mollie, the lead cleaner, was also our contact if we needed anything and was very helpful. The cleaners also returned after one week and did another great job. What we all think does need to be said is that other things relating to the house simply were not up to standard. The list of issues could be very long but we have tried to give examples of things which exemplify the problems. These are more in chronological order as we discovered them than as priorities. The garden was pleasant but the main outside table was a wooden affair that was old, unstable and pretty unpleasant. If you added up every form of seating available it may have made 11 but in some discomfort. We were sitting outside on arrival and we hoped this did not indicate the standards inside. Unfortunately it did. The kitchen was tiny with two non-matching stools which barely fitted in the space. Cooking for 11 would have been a challenge although there was enough crockery. The dishwasher got a lot of use so it was disappointing it was missing some wheels which made loading a pain. The tumble dryer failing to operate was a bit of a disaster bearing in mind the weather we had. There was a dining room which was large enough for a full complement but the room was pretty dismal and the chairs were bizarrely too low for us. The lounge had one L-shaped sofa of limited size and comfort and only 4 additional cushions. The only TV in the house was not smart, was small and in the very corner of the room. Upstairs the single beds were fine but the double in the non-master was a bit of a crippler according to its two inhabitants. The dip in the middle and its too soft nature did not help sleeping. In the master suite the bed was a small version of a double and rather crammed in. The room had no hanging space whatsoever apart from two hooks on the door. There was an en suite to this room but with a tiny handbasin and a really quite small shower. (This shower was the same as the one in the shower room downstairs.) As we became more used to the house we found that there were only 2 sun loungers (as advertised but still surprising). The one frying pan was described as “useless” by its 2 users. The lack of egg cups also caused the hard-boiled egg lovers in the group to use all their innovative skills. A lack of a tray made food transportation difficult. The blinds were cheap and ineffective (e.g. letting light in and being a little fragile). A kitchen door for the waste bin was hanging off until one of the party was able to effect a temporary affair. Finally in this long list the Wi-Fi was very poor at best. It largely failed to work upstairs and was intermittently successful downstairs. It certainly needed boosting but I dread to think what a large group of people trying to game/work/explore/book etc would have done. As it was we all ended up using too much mobile data – very frustrating. So there it is. We enjoyed Falmouth, there is plenty to do and we would visit the town again. We would not stay in the Yellow House though. We managed to rub along with it but too much of our time was spent finding things that were not of the quality and functionality that one would want for a two week stay.

Absolutely lovely house, fantastic location and a great holiday. Everything you could possibly need for a large family plus great communication with the host on local tips and advice. Thoroughly enjoyed would definitely stay again!
