Annestown · 整套民居 · 2室2床1.0卫 · 可住4人 · Thatched Cottage by the Sea
A 300 year old thatched cottage across the road from Annestown Beach. Annestown is a beautiful little village in the sunny south east of Ireland. It is a quaint and quiet spot surrounded by stunning scenery. The remarkable thing about Annestown is that it hasn't been touched by new development, leaving it close to how it would have been hundreds of years ago. Annestown is along the Copper Coast. The area was declared a European Geopark in 2001 and a UNESCO Global Geopark in 2004. The Thatch is a listed building of historical importance in County Waterford. The area of Annestown has so much for offer for nature-lovers & families. The Anne Valley Walk from Annestown to Dunhill is a big attraction as is Waterford's Greenway, which can be accessed via a short drive. Numerous beaches in the immediate area are safe for swimming and boating activities. The Fenor Playpark is one of the counties finest playgrounds. This is 4 kms away, as is Fenor Mini Farm, both offering great adventures for children. Sea kayaking is another beautiful way to explore the waterways, via seapaddling.com. The world class Mount Congreve Gardens are a 10 minute drive. Cullenagh Stables offers pony rides for children and horse trekking for adults. There is no shortage of activities to explore. The village of Annestown itself is very small, with just a few houses, a church and the beach. There is no shop or pub in the village itself. Harney's Pub in Dunhill has both a pub and a restaurant and is 4kms away, and in the village of Fenor (also 4kms away) there is a wonderful pub and restaurant. BEWARE, this house is old and it shows it's age. Please do not expect modern living standards. You will get warmth and atmosphere, but there are creaky stairs and spots with peeling paint. The fireplace in the sitting room is delightful to sit at and the house itself is warm, but it has character and if you're looking for a hotel feel, this is not the house for you. It has a distressed appeal which is not for everyone, but it is a very special house.
We had a fabulous time staying in this charming and character filled cottage. The host was friendly and approachable, local people were beautifully welcoming and we will definately be back.
Gezellig, authentiek huisje heel dichtbij zee in een klein kustdorpje. Mooie wandelmogelijkheden in de buurt!
We spent a week as a family with two small kids. There are great activities around to do as a family. We were even lucky to have dry and sunny days in march and made great use of the beach nearby. The old house has a lot of great character, the interior and decorations are sweet and intentional. The neighborhood is friendly and the landscape amazing. Mary Sue was a super kind host, generous and quick to react to questions.
Quaint little seaside village. No shops or pubs in the village. There is a Church of Ireland church and Annestown beach is the highlight. Access to the Anne Valley walkway at the bottom of the village.
The is an ideal village for walking and hiking. Exploring the beach and cliffs.
