We consider our neighbourhood a quiet tranquil place, and although close to the Ballachulish Bridge, this makes it a pretty much a unique setting, especially evenings when its lights reflect into the water. Loch Leven Hotel's pub and restaurant, reasonably priced and good selection of meals, and the amazing Holroyd Art Gallery with incredible collection of paintings, both a few seconds walk away. A lot of these paintings are painted by our very talented locals. The Lodge is certainly blessed to also have neighbouring forest walks, path leading to the Loch, fields, farmland, and of course, the fantastic views of mountains seen in all direction. A great place to have an easy stroll! Having wildlife, deer, birds, rabbits, etc. and farm animals are an added bonus to our immediate neighbourhood. The Dragons Tooth Golf Club is across the Loch and not only having the golfing there, but also segway, clay pigeon shooting, and archery. Our neighbourhood also offer water sports, and boat rides. Couple of the Munros is seen from the Lodge and easily accessible, together with other amazing low level and high level walks. A fantastic cycle path "Route 78" is very close by, too.

As mentioned, having a car is highly recommendable to give you the full benefit of visiting our wonderful locations. But saying that, the bus stop is only a 5 minutes walk away.
In and around our area, there are boat trips, canoeing, a golf course, segway, archery, Munro walks (also seen from Loch Lodge), low level walks, higher level walks , landscapes to embrace, "Route 78" cycle path, waterfalls, places to eat, wildlife to see, and many more outdoor activities!
Glencoe is a few miles away, and has a ski-ing centre, and chairlifts. There is also the famous Three Sisters, the Lost Valley, Pap of Glencoe, Buachille Etive Mor, and much, much more great walks that will not disappoint you.
Kinlochleven is 15 minutes drive away, and this little village was the site of a huge aluminium smelter, established in 1904 and powered by a hydro-electric scheme that dammed the Blackwater valley above the village and which at the time it was built was the largest in Europe. The tale can be heard in The Aluminium Story. Plenty of fantastic walks of hills, mountains and waterfalls, in this area.
Fort William is known as the Outdoor Capital of the UK and is only 20 minutes drive away. Parking is readily available for a small fee. There is a ski-ing centre, Gondola and chairlifts, Ben Nevis, of course, being the highest mountain in the UK, low levels and high levels walks, waterfalls, whisky distillery, the Highlandland Soap factory, and cafe, and many restaurants and useful shops.
The splendid town of Oban is a seaside resort, only 45 minutes away, have much parking and is a great place for a relaxing day trip. Oban has a whisky distillery. The amazing McCaig's Tower is a prominent landmark in Oban, and sits on a small accessible hill with fantastic views of Oban, Lochs, and the other isles. There are daily boat trips to and from these magnificent isles. Booking boat trips are highly recommended.
