We were a group of 14 people, we were not tourists and we were not Guatemalans. We were a group of local expats that live on Lake Atitlan that are paddle board enthusiasts. We paddle from Santa Cruz to the yacht Club to enjoy the house for the weekend. The house is big, spacious with lots to do between the hot tub, pool, pool table, fuzbol and outdoor space. It worked great for our needs. The house is at the top of the hill so it is a short but noticeable walk up and down to enjoy the waters edge. The house is nice and we enjoyed ourselves over the weekend but there are aspects to the property that felt cheap. The kitchen lacked quality cookware to make large meals for 14. We got by but it was dance. Pool cues for the pool table are garbage and have been used to the point where they are just plastic on the end. Outdoor seating space is limited to a few chairs by the dinning room table sliding doors. There was nowhere in the house where 14 people could sit together at one time. Outdoor lighting is white flood lights. Soft cafe lights would completely change the atmosphere. Aspects of the house were really comfortable while some were cheap and not well thought-out. Views are great from the house on the hill. Communication with Luis was painful. I think we was on vacation or something. I had a lot of logistics to work out for a group of 14 and I didn't get answers until a few days before which was challenging. Monica was great to help us once she took over. Bedroom configuration was different than what was told in advance. I think it's a great house rental and has tons of potential if they invest some money into the kitchen and outdoor space comfort. We were happy with it just wanted to make sure any potential renters got a proper understanding of the space since reviews and house listing details were limited to us when we chose this place for our Feb 2022 weekend friend trip.
