aj was a fantastic host, communication was perfect, any questions were answered within seen hour. over all great guy. it was just the property that needed some TLC honestly. gorgeous home. so it was unfortunate I had to cut my stay short.

We stayed for a little over two months, and overall, it was pretty good. The house was exactly the way it was published, the decor was nice, and the red door was great! (Uber could find us really easily) Since it was a long stay, we noticed some things that probably would not be an issue for short stays: the kitchen area was a bit small, the downstairs closet was inside the bathroom, the water pressure in the upstairs bathroom was not the strongest, and during the last week, ants started to appear from behind the dishwasher. AJ was a good host. Whenever we asked about how certain things worked, he replied remarcably fast, he sent a plumber to fix some piping issues, and he gave us extra pans for the kitchen when we asked. The house is in a pretty safe area. It's close to H street and Union Market, so definitely, there are a lot of options for dinner and takeout. It's very well connected, there is a bus stop in the corner, and a couple of blocks away there is a dcirculator stop.

This is a very lovely property, just as described and pictured in the listing. We loved all of the stairs, as it gave us a work out without even trying. The location is handy for visiting the city. As mentioned in other reviews, it is a bit sketchy with homeless people gathering right across the street daily. We did not experience any issues with any of them, but just be aware they are there. Parking was a bit of an issue for us. We had a rental car and did not want to drive it daily into the city. We learned quickly that tickets will be issued if you leave your vehicle on the street during the day. There is no place to park and leave your car for extended periods of time. We figured out the best way was to pre-arrange a parking spot close to where we wanted to be for the daily activities in a parking garage. Then we simply parked our car and walked to our destinations. This was after receiving a $30 parking ticket. Most parking garages were under $20 for the day. If you do not have a rental car, then Uber is a fantastic option. They are there within minutes and take you anywhere you want to go and are quite affordable. As mentioned in previous reviews, this is not a place to go and cook a lot, as the kitchen is minimally stocked. This worked well for us as we only prepared simple breakfast items and frozen entrees from trader Joe’s, which is right up the street. All in all, I recommend this place as the layout and accommodations are most excellent. Just be aware of the above mentioned issues and be prepared to handle them to fit your situation.
