Lori's place was perfect for our out of town family during the holidays. It is spacious yet cozy and very comfortable. The apartment's location has the calm and quiet benefits of a rural area but with easy access to town and a major highway. Lori was an excellent host and left delicious welcome treats at check in. We highly recommend this location and host and plan to stay at Lori's place again in the future.

I stayed in Lori’s apartment for almost three months. The place is very quiet and peaceful. The air conditioning was great on the hot days at the end of September. The heating was more than enough for the cold mornings of December. Lori is a great host. I didn’t have any issues during my stay. On the couple of occasions when I needed something, she responded immediately.

Stayed 10 days at Lori’s and it was a wonderful experience. Apartment was very clean and Lori went the extra mile providing fresh eggs/coffee/wine. Will stay again!

Lori's place in Old Lyme is wonderful. I stayed there for a month as autumn turned into winter and the surroundings were positively gorgeous. Literally, in every direction I walked daily, there were idyllic roads, parks, trails, homes, and nature. I got there late on a Sunday night (after 9 PM) and she came out to greet me and show me the place. There were fresh eggs (the chickens are right out the window!), cream, and orange juice in the refrigerator; and a bottle of red wine and a basket of pastries on the counter. Really sweet to walk into all that after a long road-trip! The carriage house was perfect for me as one person, but it could easily accommodate a couple or an adult with a child (there's a pull-out bed in the sitting area). It's well appointed and has all the basics you'll need to prepare food and meals. It's spacious and cozy. Old Lyme is a beautiful place and there are so many little towns within 15-20 minutes in every direction that have their own charm, restaurants, markets, nearby parks and trails, etc. Salem, Old Saybrook, Hadlyme, Colchester and the list goes on. I don't know that I would have found Old Lyme had it not been for needing to come Connecticut for another reason, but I am glad I did because this is one of the better "Work Away" trips I've taken in terms of backdrop, serenity, and just "being in the woods." If that's your thing, you won't be disappointed while also still having all modern amenities (markets, gyms, pharmacies, restaurants) nearby enough to make it a really wonderful mix. Highly recommend Old Lyme, in general, and Lori's place in particular. She left me to do my thing, but was also really responsive to requests and in-touch whenever needed. Easy to communicate with and the process was seamless.

My stay at Lori's AirBnB was fantastic. It was a clean, comfortable, spacious rental with all of the items I needed. Lori provided some breakfast items, including eggs from her chickens, which were just what I needed, since I arrived late the night before. Normally, Lori likes to meet on arrival to hand off the keys, etc, but she easily made accommodations for my schedule and arriving late the night of check-in. She was always very prompt and pleasant in communication, and she just has a nice vibe and strikes that perfect balance of being responsive but not overbearing. It was truly an easy and great experience from beginning to end. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
