The Collington Creek Inn run by Dawn and Darold is a 1 in a million find for a great place to stay at the OBX. The inn features stunning sound side views, an exceptionally clean and sanitary place to stay, all the amenities you could ask for and even the ones you didn't think of, 5 star quality breakfasts every day, and also Dawn and Darold are some of the nicest/friendliest people you'll ever meet. We will definitely be staying with them again in the future!

We loved our stay at the cottage. It was convenient to town and the beach (7-8 minute drive), but was far enough away to offer serenity. The setting is amazing and the daily breakfasts were restaurant quality. They were warm and helpful, making our first trip to OBX fabulous.

Dawn and Darold were amazing hosts! We had the relaxing vacation we wanted and more. They made an amazing breakfast every morning, had great recommendations on what to do and were so incredibly kind! Would recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful get away!

The cottage at Colington Creek Inn was PHENOMENAL! I booked it based on the reviews and the pictures and we were not disappointed! It was just what we hoped for - a location central to all of the Outer Banks; a cottage that was charming and comfortable with all the amenities you need; breakfasts (and evening snacks) that were to-die-for; and hosts who were gracious, charming, and spot-on with recommendations. On top of all that there was the peacefulness of the location; the beauty of the surroundings; the joy of nature (ospreys feeding their babies, jumping fish, otters); and the relaxation provided both indoors (beautiful sun porch) and outdoors (AMAZING hammocks!). We loved all of our adventures in OBX, but the cottage and Dawn and Darold made it a truly special vacation!

The location is perfect. It's private but convenient to so many attractions. Staying in the cottage provides all of the charm and amenities of a B&B along with the privacy of a single rental. Relaxing on Colington Creek was a perfect way to enjoy the down time of our visit to the OBX.
