Our stay at Ellen’s family home was lovely. My family and I met here to celebrate Thanksgiving and by the end of the trip we did not want to leave. All of the beds were cozy and comfortable. Ellen warns guests of the steep stairs but seeing how steep they are is actually shocking. My kids and I enjoyed climbing them but the elders, not so much. Fun for some, dangerous for others. This was my first stay in an Airbnb and I did not realize that people could rent their homes with most of their personal belongings still in it. Ellen has lovingly placed clothing racks with robes and slippers in each room. All of the closets, dressers, drawers, and under beds were marked private with the family’s items tucked away. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. It’s great for taking walks. We drove when we went into town for restaurants, shopping, and tourist attractions. The walkability depends on the fitness of your group. Overall, this home has a cozy, welcome home vibe that we thoroughly enjoyed.

Girls trip to Salem, for Hocus Pocus fun and Haunted Happenings. the house was in a prime location, short walk from great restaurants, coffee, and sights. The house was a little smaller than expected but did not disappoint with amenities and service from the hostess! It was clean and full of character, plenty of great suggestions and easy parking.

This charming, historic home was the PERFECT place to stay for a girls weekend exploring all the Halloween-themed fun that Salem has to offer. The house had so much character, and we appreciated all the host's special touches. It was in a beautiful area of town just one block from the waterfront, surrounded by other stately historic homes. It was wonderful walking the neighborhood. We loved that the House of the Seven Gables museum and several shops and restaurants were all just a few blocks down the street. We also were able to walk to Essex Street fairly easily ( under 15 minutes). The beds were very comfortable and we felt at home. The stairs are a bit steep for hauling up luggage, but it was a fair trade for such a great home.

The Irish Mariner is a historical home in Salem, down the street from the House of Seven Gables. Although the house was built in 1807, it was renovated to include a new kitchen, three bedrooms and newly renovated bathrooms. Getting in an out of the house was easy and Ellen was available when we had any questions. We would definitely come back to the Irish Mariner the next time we come to Salem!
