Nestled in pristine environs, Damien and Lucy’s Airbnb property offers rest, relaxation and complete peace of mind. Extremely good communication right after booking through to the end of the trip, the hosts were a pleasure to meet and talk to about the vicinity, the history of the property and life in general! This part of the UK is a sight for sore eyes - the drives are super pretty and there is much to do around if you want to reconnect with nature at its best. The photos and descriptions are absolutely accurate and the property is more than adequately stocked for all needs and is very very cozy. If you have a car and are driving around, there’s absolutely nothing to worry about, otherwise you’d need to book cabs well in advance. Thank you once again, Damien and Lucy! Am sure our paths with cross again.

Damien and Lucy were great hosts. The malthouse was cosy and welcoming, all that we needed and in a lovely rural area. Very communicative hosts and very helpful. They recommended a great nearby pub (Foresters Arms) which we ate at and also had some takeaways that delivered. A car is a must but there are lots of lovely walks nearby.

The Malthouse was the perfect space for a quiet getaway, the space itself was well presented and had all the amenities you could possibly need for a few days stay and more. The location was quiet and surrounded by green space but still close enough to get to nearby towns and attractions with ease. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and would absolutely recommend it to friends and family in the future!

We really enjoyed our time here. The house was precisely what we wanted: quiet, well-appointed and a good base for walking and sight seeing. There are brilliant walks straight from the front door (ranging in difficulty, we probably overdid it but managed to fit two pubs into our “big walk”)! Damien and Lucy were friendly and approachable hosts who ensured everything went smoothly with our stay. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return if we came back to the area.

Excellent location for a peaceful retreat near Ashdown forest! My partner and I stayed for 4 nights, we loved the peace&quiet and convenient location to hike through the forest. True to the listing it’s useful to have a car to get around, however we enjoyed our stay without one by 1. taking a taxi from Uckfield train station 2. getting our groceries delivered 3. hiking through the gorgeous walks suggested by Lucy 4. pre-booking our return taxi from one of the taxi companies in the welcome PDF provided by Damien. Oh and can’t forget the beautiful views from our window! The Malthouse itself was top-notch, well-furnished, and spotless clean. 100% recommended, we’ll be coming back often!
