We wanted to visit the Great Sand Dunes. The lodge was about 10min from the main parking lot in the park. The lodge had sand sleds to rent right from the front office. The morning breakfast was great! Because it is CO and in the mountains, a snow storm did come through so the employees couldn't get to the office the day we left. They did get us access to the kitchen area so we could grab some food before venturing out to head back home. Staff took care of us and were super friendly. The proximity to the park is worth it.

Absolutely stay here! Within minutes to the Sand Dunes and Zapata Falls. Perfect location. Rooms are comfortable with an amazing view of the dunes. Staff is friendly. Lots and lots of options for breakfast. I am gluten free and they had several options (fruit, yogurt, and gluten free cereal) A few things to consider - any food places are 20-30 minute drive away. It is best to bring your own food which isn’t much trouble since the rooms come with a fridge and microwave. Sand sleds are also available to rent for a reasonable price.

FYI Air BnB does not have complete address so had to call the office at lodge and get full address. 7900 CO150 Perfect location Very close to the park, able to rent boards to slide and ALL of the folks that we met were so helpful.
