Browsholme Hall is nestled in the beautiful countryside of the Ribble Valley, just on the edge of the Forest of Bowland, AONB. Often described as a hidden gem, not many people know we are here - meaning you truly get the rural and peaceful getaway you need to recharge. Great for families, romantic getaways, or solo travelers wanting to unwind.
Great for walkers and foodies alike, the area is famous for its landscape, history, and most of all - award-winning pubs. We are a great base to explore the Ribble Valley and the Forest of Bowland (AONB) by car, foot, or by bike. We are just 5 miles from Ribble Valley e-bikes where you can rent a bike of your choice to explore the area.
5.4 miles to the ancient market town of Clitheroe.
7.4 miles to Whalley, a charming village, filled with historic buildings, cafes and restaurants, and many successful independent shops.
20.5 miles to the quaint market town of Settle.
20.6 miles to the heritage city of Lancaster.

The closest train or bus is in Clitheroe, which is 15 minutes way from our location.
You can get to us by car or taxi, and there is designated parking for our guests in car park adjacent to the woodland glade. We do have an electric charging point onsite for your electric cars (we are huge fans!).
If you do arrive by taxi, be mindful that if you need to get to the shops you will need transport back into Clitheroe where the nearest supermarkets are located. Alternatively, you can use a bike to get into town, which is all downhill! But be warned, it’s certainly an uphill climb to get back to us! Local ebikes are available for hire, which we would be happy to help you with.
We have many walks and walk recommendations. Most of our favorites will take you on the scenic route to our local pubs, including the Inn at Whitewell and Waddington where you can find the Higher Buck and the Waddington Arms. We think all good walks should have a good meal and a pint somewhere along the way!
There are also walks around our beautiful grounds, and an on-site tearoom (with seasonal opening hours) where you can grab a large slice of homemade cake, sandwiches, and a well-deserved cup of tea!
