You may have sheep or cattle in the paddocks nearby during your stay but generally there are no neighbours. Turtons cottage is perfect for a couple, a family or a group of friends to get away and enjoy a rural holiday. The expansive deck and floor to ceiling windows mean you can enjoy the view no matter what the weather. The deck has outdoor table and chairs for alfresco dining in good weather. Our kitchen is well equipped for cooking a meal, there’s a BBQ too or just 5 minutes away is the Pongaroa Hotel who are known for their fantastic meals or takeaways. They have a courtesy van that you can book ahead, so no need to drive! The Pongaroa Cafe and General Store have grocery items and the best burgers around. The Smart TV is perfect to watch Netflix, and there is WiFi to keep in touch with the world... if you want to. Turtons Cottage is the closest accommodation to the stunning Waihi Falls - rated as a 'must see waterfall' on the NZ Waterfalls website. The Falls are a scenic 20 minute drive. Take a picnic and if the weather and flow conditions are right then take your togs too. The night sky is vast and on a calm evening the deck is a fantastic place to star gaze.
