I'm almost reluctant to leave an honest review for this place because it was so wonderful that I want to keep it a secret for myself 😅 But I must give Carolyn her due - this is one of the best places I've ever found on Airbnb. The location is breathtaking, the space was beautiful and so cosy, and there were so many thoughtful touches you can tell she's really doing this as a labour of love. I'll definitely be going back.

This was my third trip to the Bolthole and I just can’t recommebd it enough. It is just so restful and beautiful. Having my morning coffee whilst watching the red squirrels have a snack in the trees. Also the best bed and bath ever. The space has every little thing you could think of. Carolyn is so kind, completely invisible when you are in the Bolthole but always on hands for help and a chat. I’ll definitely be back

This is a magical place. Carolyn’s generous spirit and careful attention are everywhere in the room—the fresh flowers, the comfortable furniture and bed, the handwritten notes with important information, the supply of eggs, jam, butter, bread, granola, and milk. I spent hours sitting on the sofa or at the desk writing and looking up at the beautiful view. The location is stunning—the view of Glen Lyon that is constantly changing with the light, the easy access to the gorgeous Birks of Aberfeldy, a quick walk (also through the Birks or down the road) to the lovely town of Aberfeldy, an easy drive to wonderful places to hike (e.g., The Hermitage, the Braes of Foss, Pitlochry). This is exactly where I needed to be to celebrate my 60th birthday. Thank you, Carolyn (and James) for creating the perfect bolthole.

Absolutely loved our stay here. Brilliant location right next to the Birks of Aberfeldy and walking distance to the town centre. We felt very comfortable and relaxed straight away. Beautiful smell to come into on each arrival back. Very relaxing setup which was cosy, warm, and thoughtful attention to detail was paid throughout. The best part was the tree right outside the large windows where we could sit on the comfy couch and watch the nature next to the heater. We enjoyed topping up the feeders. Bed was a very good size and extremely comfortable. The provision of breakfast was a lovely touch and being provided with dietary requirements was excellent. The bread was so nice and the vegan broth was a great addition! Carolyn was helpful and friendly from the start and we loved meeting the family dogs too. Thanks again!

Wow What a gorgeous place. Views are amazing. Such a warm and cosy place to stay. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
