Beautiful home, very accommodating host. 10/10!

We had a wonderful time in Telluride. The house was beautiful with high end finishes, and even better than the pictures. The main issue we had was the HVAC system at the house. We reported this to Exceptional Stays on our first day, and they were prompt in sending a property manager to the house. The resolution was that the main control panel was "locked" and could not be lowered to below 71 degrees. The separate control panels in each of the bedrooms did not work with the AC. The only way to cool the house was in the main room. The issue is that most of the house remained well above that temperature with bedrooms at or approaching 80 degrees. Spending time opening windows at night, closing all the blinds during the day, and using the two box fans provided did not resolve the high temps in any of the bedrooms. Given the price of the home this is unacceptable. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated and were all suites, which was great for our group. However, everyone complained of uncomfortable beds. Location was terrific. Perhaps the only missing inventory would be a coffee grinder, but the kitchen was otherwise well appointed. We've stayed in Exceptional Stays properties many times, and would do so again - perhaps just not the Overlook Haus.

The views from bed were amazing! especially when it started to snow! the home is huge and bright and perfect for a large group! had some communication problems that resulted in us not receiving our welcome package that i had especially ordered for valentines! however they were super sweet about it and gave us some truffles and champagne for free and gave us a late checkout for free also! i had also scheduled massages, a chef to cook us breakfast, flowers upon arrival, and a pizza kit for a fun night in. got absolutely none of this. with no explanation. i reached out several times with no response. we had to run to town for pizza and the chocolate place (that sold the chocolates that were supposed to be there) was closed already. so quite a disappointment! so be cautious when booking add ons. be very clear when communicating what you expect! the home is not as clean as i expected. it says brandnew but the rugs were curled up at the edge, the cabinets dinged up, the bench had a big stain on it as did the light fixture in the bathroom, and the floors scuffed up and dirty! otherwise an awesome place!! comfy bed! loved soaking in the hot tub! the heated floor was a bonus! if anything was lacking it was just a hostess that was truly dedicated! i feel like with exceptional stays its more of a hotel business and not so much an owner operated thing. i LOVE supporting single individuals with airbnbs and staying with them! they leave thoughtful touches and make it truly feel like home! this had none of that. no water bottles in the fridge or bath salts with the tub. there was used shampoo & conditioner for us instead of new soaps of nice quality. absolutely no coffee, ground or whole bean, no cozy throws to curl up with around the fire, (i found a queen blanket in the closet downstairs) it just lacked that cozy 'hello welcome here' feeling. i feel like when you pay hundreds of dollars for a home it should at least have some of those quality features. ive stayed in homes thats cost a fraction of the price with far better amenities! Anyways. aside from all of that we did enjoy our time here! the skiing was so fun! and the little town of telluride is so magical! a must see in your lifetime! a very lovely trip!
