Mark is a remarkable, personable host. His personal touches make this accommodation extraordinary and unique. He provides terrific descriptions of the wildlife and guides to the trails as well as other great things to do in the area. The scenery is stunning and there are great opportunities for solitude in this idyllic setting.
This is a lovely little spot tucked away amongst beautiful surroundings. Mark has clearly put a lot of love into building the place, as thoughtful touches are everywhere. A gem!
Truly the most magical trip I’ve ever been on. I went on this trip by myself & am typically a very anxious, safety conscious person but this was the first time I felt like I was able to completely relax. Mark put incredible effort into making the space feel welcoming, safe, & cozy. The private trails he’s established had me in awe. I was able to hike & feel safe in a way I never could on public trails & felt so blessed Mark was willing to share all that beauty with strangers! I can’t wait to go back on another solo trip & another where I bring my family! There’s only so much you can say in these reviews but this place is worth every penny. 100/10 recommend.
Mark's Canyon Hideout is an amazing place not just because of the breathtaking landscape, but also the amazing host and attention to detail. Mark has put so much thought into making sure his guests are comfortable and have a good experience. This was my second time back and it continues to be one of my favorite places to stay.

Originally from San Diego I now live in the 4 corners area for the last 20 years in beautiful McElmo Canyon. I Love exploring, hiking, riding and the outdoors. Me and my partner Steve have created a safe haven here for animals in the wild and don't allow hunting. We have an organic garden that is shared with the community here and we live in harmony with the land that surrounds us. I am grateful & blessed everyday to live here and share this part of the world with others. I'm fortunate enough to be a steward of this magical place. Mark
